Would you last in jail?

Green, unfortunately your situation is being met with a lot of humour from others who don't realise the seriousness of your situation. Maybe you should pretend to be a good looking woman, and they will be tripping over themselves to help you mate.

I knew people were having a laugh on the thread before I posted so the posts don't bother me. When I saw the thread I just posted and it kinda was good being able to put down what I was thinking. It's a hard thing to talk about to people I know. I've seen some of the stuff people were talking about anyway.

I'm in Ireland and from what I know there isn't a big problem with that type of stuff over here. I've seen it in teh movies and think it's more an American thing but don't know how bad it is there either.

I was in a similar situation when i was younger, and got into trouble with the drink. If you went down, where would they send you, and when is your sentencing date ?

I've another month to go before sentencing so want to make the most of it. I'd probably end up in Mountjoy - the main prison in Dublin. I've heard alot about it - it's a Victorian prison from 1850 or something and it seems a bad place because it is so old - you still have to slop out there - no toilets in teh cells. Hard to believe that they still do that.

Sorry I haven't read all of your post's Green25,but a year ago I was looking at 5 years as I got caught with a concealed blade, and I got done for g.b.h too.But the courts actually took my problems into consideration and I only ended up with a years probation, which was still hell for my anxiety but it sure beat prison.

So you might not get sent down yet,Though If I remember properly you bottled someone.. Thats a big no no these days and carries an automatic jail sentence, but still so was carrying a knife when I got caught. You should really push for your solicitor to bring up your problems, they should have to take your problems into consideration and since you only ever seem to get in trouble when your out, push for being tagged.

mrb I have another question! In our society we are told that going to prison will ruin our chances at getting a job. I remember reading in another post of yours that you have a job as a removals man, what I wanted to know was it difficult to get that job once you were released? Were your employers okay with it?

depends on what job your going for mate , most of my jobs have been building sites as a Labourer , they didnt even ask and couldnt care less as long as you got the job done ... as for my job in removals i started doing removals years ago with my mate clive who has also been to prison , then i ran my own vans , now im working for a company , now the thing is with the removal world , evreyone knows evreyone , and im good at my job so my current boss just took me on , but i will say this , if you go to prison it wont look good on your cv mate , but as i said all my jobs i do dont require a cv , cos there brain dead jobs BIG LOL ... actually thats not true being a removal man isnt as easy as it looks , you have to size up the jobs , export pack for overseas jobs , ways of lifting stuff ect ect using webs to pull stuff up the sides of buildings cos they wont go through the door, ill shut up now cos im sure im boring you , cos i know in boring myself , see thats the trouble with me i NEVER KNOW WHEN TO SHUT UP  :D

That murder was gruesome and heinous, Serafina! I don't care what you say lol. You're nuts. ::p: I'm not able to watch the entire thing without looking away.

I would be ripped to shreads! Some of the women in prison are really hard as nails. Nah they would snap me in two.

Id never go though. Because i dont have plans on breaking the law in my life!

I spent three nites in jail about 4 years ago.It was strange but it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be.the worst part was when i had to go to the cafeteria to eat.evrybody was starying at me cause i was new kinda like your first day at a new school.Half my stay was spent in my cell because your first 48 hours your put on solitary lockdown wich was great for me cause the last thing i wanted was to be around people.

The only way i'm going to be in a prison is if i become a cop. Even then, who knows? You're under the same roof just on a different side of the cage.

I, barely survived high-school, there’s no way I could.

My, uncle was a prison guard and said some of the people in there, if you weren’t aware of their crime, they could actually pass off as everyday decent type people.
