Why do we want romantic love?

the endless searching and grasping for happiness is what makes us unhappy

the unfulfilled need to feel contented is what makes us discontent

perhaps if we stop all the needing and searching and grasping...

happiness and contentment will be ours

@A friend in need - I don't think humanity is getting anywhere with magic pills... As Coyote says, we have to learn to stop craving for more, and we should learn to be happy with what we have, and make the most of it.

I can vouch for this.

The more you let something concern you, oddly enough, the more it will concern you. Why does it concern us?

It's an apparent reality. We see people around us who are in love. We see it in the media. We're constantly fed romance-esque ideology through too many sources. Much to the point where we're forced to realize we don't have it and thereon believe it's some type of defect or imperfection.

It is not.

To those who are alone. We may see romance as some type of magnificent, overcompensating form of counteracting our loneliness.

I'd rather have a lifelong friend.

But magic pills stopped my seizures, and they make me sleep at night.

I make myself unhappy by seeing greener grass elsewhere...
