What are your priorities in life?

Was just wondering in what direction we take lives...! I had absolutely no ambition in life as a kid and was happy ,and now i don't have the means to achieve my ambitions and i am unhappy.

What should we do in life?

Just make money like everyone else and get so worked up that we spend the same money for medical attention when old?

Or get married to a really gorgeous girl/ boy and later regret the decision as the wives/husbands tend to get fat ,ugly and old. Or they might not have a heart to be happy with us without asking too much of us...!

Or just live a happy contended life with what we have? With the social phobia...is it not possible to live an okay life? Have a few decent friends...get a small job...perhaps marry a not-so-good-looking wife/husband with a decent heart....may be help the beggar on the street with a meal and be contented....isn't this good enough?

Why do we stress so much on greater things....they are not going to give us real happiness anyway..

Health is the greatest gift, contentment is the greatest wealth, a trusted friend is the best relative

Your words are admirable.

I think you have made a perfect summary of this website, and its place in life.

nice thoughts hardy.
btw ur username always reminds of thomas hardy one of my fav authors.

About your question. i dont really have any priorites..i am kind of aimless.
Its not that i want to make lots of money..i want to have a feeling of satisfation and happiness in any career..but sadly i spent my life in indecision and the rest was ruined by ocd.

Love..yeah thats what i need. To have a charming husband is not what i want..but wont complain lol..but yeah he must have the heart i m looking for. (not exactly actively looking) Lol

I have read few of your post and i feel you take life as ..what shall i say..a gift that can be lived with simple acts of kindness and contentment. correct me if i m wrong.
Nice post:)

If I didn't have SA I am sure I would have complete different priorities as life with SA.

Factoring SA my priorities now are no. 1 my job. For the longest time, a year in fact I could not hold down a job. I am very thankful I managed to stay at my current one 15 months now. Having a job establishes structure in my life. Without it I probably wouldn't even find strength to crawl out of bed. The financial part also helps me survive. After that would be relationships since I don't have friends to hang out with. But at the moment no takers, I am floundering at this aspect. Beyond this two I don't even dare dream of having other priorities, these are hard enough to manage.

difference between ambition and priorities, is..?

ambition, I want to get a good job where I enjoy it, am challenged, am helping a cause, and making a good amount of money to live well and enjoy travelling..

make a large amount of varied friends..

learn to embrace new experiences and be somebody who loves excitement (aka fear) despite not being the best at things. so aka self acceptance.

meet tons and tons of people in my lifetime and see the good in them all.

i would like to meet the girl for me, but that one seems way far off. I can handle if it's in 10 years, as long as it happens.

other than that, not know, not know..

My highest priorities are:

Enjoying my life, spiritual learning and personal growth through my self-selected teaching, being true to myself, exploring interests/hobbies, and living comfortably.

honestly, i have some priorities but they arent the same as those around me.

I dontl ike money. I dont care to chase the dollar or job title. I acknowledge that i need it to survive in this world. As long as im making enough to live comfortably and have an internet connection, then im fine with it. Good enough to have good food in my stomach and a warm bed to sleep in and to be able to provide for my kitties, and im happy.

One thing that annoys me about my family is it seems quite alot of them compare salaries, ect. I dont see the point in living like that and to me it jut feels like theyre missing the point in life....whatever that is, i dont think thats it.

I want to get on my own, pay off my debts, work, live quietly, and be left alone save for a few ppl.

*grabs mikey by the ear* new roomie!

Those are my priorities too, at this moment in life.

Then I can make everyone happy. Homes for animals, children, and take them around in a car, and entertain

I'm reading How to Win Friends and Influence People. Some nice little advice in there without the Machiavellian villainy of some other similar reads.

My priorities are mostly work right now. Practicing some light mindfullnes, and doing some brain engaging activities like chess a few times a day. Thinking the brain needs exercise to work and function better cognitively and positively.

Need to put guitar and a few other hobbies higher on my list than web surfing has become lately.
