As a pp said, I was bothered more about not having a partner than being a virgin. And, on a more physical scale, I was more bothered about having never kissed anyone than not having sex. I didn't have my first kiss or sexual experience until 21. I sort of wish I waited longer for sex, though.

I may be kind of an oddball, but I think it's sweet if a guy is a virgin, its actually a plus. I don't know who got it in their minds to make people think that you need experience or some crazy thing like that. Who wants someone who's been around the block a billion times? Iew, gross.
As for me, I totally lucked out by some grace of god (seriously) and the man of my dreams landed on my doorstep. I shared my first kiss with him and my first everything ^-^ I wouldn't change a thing!
Also, about the whole shallowness thing... I always thought it was guys that tended to be more shallow (on average, not all - obviously)... I mean, just look at the media and how women are expected to look and present themselves, its sickening. You don't see Play Girl magazines in every girl's room. And my husband is anything but what most people would call 'perfect' physically, but I don't care because he is most certainly perfect for me! And he'll still be perfect when we're old gnarled and gray. :wink:

I don't like how society is. SOMEHOW [even though I think sex is overrated and unnecessary] it made me feel bad for being a virgin. [might I add, I'm 16. Yeah.] Apparently its really awesome now to have sex when you're a 16 year old girl? I really never knew this until friends started doing such, and feel the need to bring it up around me. And then in the middle of of it "&of course *my name here* is a virgin." Maybe I'm just sensitive...but I was offended. :\

it's pretty obvious why someone would feel bad about being a virgin (agaisnt their choice). If you, like me, have never had contact with a woman it can't help but make you feel inadequate (because you and i are). Obviously if evolution is supposed to weed out the weak and you're being weeded out you have to fathom the possibility that there's a good reason why you're being barred from procreation. Obviously this is what destroys my confidence : D

I woulda been offended too!! Hey, it takes a really strong person not to follow the crowd & it won't mean much if u end up w/some random guy just to get it over with and fit in. I think ur being smart! The right guy will come along & u'll know it when he does. He probably isn't the drunk jock at the party making googly eyes at ya over his piss-water beer while his buddies nudge him along & laugh tho. LoL. Have faith in yourself. U'll know when it's time.

Do you think it's something strange. We talk about how we want to nail our class mates not too long after we start school. And finnaly at teenage girls gets willing to.
