Sprawling thanks for your advice.

My Idromed is a direct current. Until recently I was getting good results with my Idromed and Lyrinel XL but suddenly they both dropped off.

I started upping the Idromed sessions but it has become to uncomfortable and painful lately.

I'm just not great with the technical things but I imagine all I may need is the leads and the crocodile clips.

I would in time look to get better trays also.

Keep me informed on how it works for you. You should find that the Galvanic should be way more comfortable for you. May I ask where you ordered it from. Prices vary so much and it would be helpful for others so they know where to go.

Yes, the link you provided is the same machine. Some of them have different names. The only other issue is you will need something to convert the current so that it may be used in the UK

I just bought a unit from OTC so I can vouch for them. One thing - I needed to buy it because I fried my other galvanic unit when I was doing my feet for the first time. Was watching a movie and then I must have shifted my feet and made the 2 metal pans touch. I felt a surge and then nothing - the unit was fried. So make sure to keep the pans apart.

I have explained many times how to set this up in several posts. Have some patience I may be able to find some info in my private posts.

Here's the simple version:

1- you will need to add alligator clips to the wire that has the black and red pins on the end of them. The plug itself plugs into the plug socket that is next to the dial wheel located on top.
2- set the dial wheel between 3.5-4 or whatever feels comfortable. Comfortable means feeling a very mild tingle
3- empty plug socket on the left top remains empty
4- Battery door slides down and the mode setting button on the left is set for continuous.
5- Rate is set to 80 or you can experiment to see if something works better for you.
6- red lead goes into one pail of water, black into the other. plug in the power supply on and begin treatment.
7- If you do not have alligator clips, the pins can be placed directly into the water of each pail.
8- I use aluminum grill liners in each of my water pails and on top of that I use shelf liners.

All this has been explained somewhere in the back postings. I'll need to see if i can find pictures of this setup which I know has been posted before. This forum makes it difficult to post standard pictures.

I know this sounds inconvenient at first but you will need to dig some of this info up on the forum. No matter what machine you are using, the basic setup is the same.

I will look into whats needed for current conversion as I am not technically minded at all.

Bottom trays for my feet are connected by a gray lead that joins the 2 trays making the same as if having 1 tray. Black lead from the machine goes to the bottom of these trays. After 15 minutes I switch the bottom and red leads coming from the machine.

Notice that I'm using a lead that connects the top 2 trays together. The red lead from the machine is connected to the top trays and then switched with the black machine lead after 15 minutes.

I hope that these pictures give you an idea of what I'm accomplishing here.

I prefer to treat my hands and feet at the same time using a setting of between 3.5 and 4 on the dial. This little machine is pretty powerful and will supply more power than the named brand overpriced units.

All the cable ends have been reinforced so that they do not accidently get pulled apart and break.

These are grill toppers cut to size. They are used for barbecue grills. Folded aluminum foil can be used instead as I use on my bottom trays. Shelf liners go over the aluminum.

I just purchased a second machine as a backup from Healiohealth. It wasn't till after I made the purchase did I see the one from discountchiropracticsupplies for $131.27 which is a really great deal. This is the lowest price I've seen. So I ended up paying $138.27 which includes the shipping. Both places say they require a prescription, but you really don't. Mine was shipped out pretty much instantly without a prescription request.

Sprawling, thanks for the updates and further info.

Did your back-up stimulator come with an adapter? Reading the web pages, they mention a battery but no adapter. One then states later an adapter is included.

As you do multiple at once ie hands and feet. Do you have to have a low setting due to the different tolerances of body parts. I find with my Idromed that I can only do 7/8mA for hands but 20mA for feet, so do hands or feet separately.
