Stalked

Okay, so this was interesting.

I was on my way home from work around 7am, when a car drove past me, and the driver (a guy wearing a suit and sunglasses) kept staring at me, and started to lick his lips suggestively. I laughed it off and kept walking, but when the guy hit a red light, he actually turned around at that red light, drove down the very same street he had just driven by (but in the opposite direction), and did the exact same thing: stared at me, and licked his lips in a very creepy way.

I literally went "what the f--" out loud, and kept on walking. Turns out he actually drove through another street, turned around again, drove past me again, and still kept staring. It was starting to get really weird by now.

As I kept on walking, there he is again, doing the exact same thing. At this point, I tried to fool him by trying to go in a different direction, but he was slowing down so much that he could see what I was doing. I got fed up and was close to calling the cops, so I just ran home, otherwise he could have found out where I live.

Mind you, I'm not gonna get all reclusive and whatnot because of this. It creeped me out, yes, and it makes me feel a little paranoid (since I always get off work at the same hour and take the same route home), but I'm just gonna shrug it off as a one time thing.

And yes, I'm a guy, which makes this even creepier.

It may of been just some random guy being the usual jerk he is but you never can be too careful.

But that's what's strange about it. He was wearing a suit and had a decent looking car. He seemed as if he was going off to work himself. He was probably gay, and I'm fine with him being gay, but that was just so awkward. He didn't seem like someone who'd do that just for ****s and giggles.

That's weird.

I think you should let the cops know anyway. Just in case this guy does this (or worse!) to anybody else. Won't do you any harm to put it on record.

Glad you're not letting it get to you too much.

Wow dude, when you said you were a guy after that story I was like wow.

Gay or not, nobody should be doing what he did to anyone that they don't know. It's so creepy.

Oh well, could've been worse. At least you are okay physically.

Some people get beat or raped for no reason. I haven't, i'm just saying at least that didn't happen.

I have a bike, but I'd have nowhere to put it if I brought it to work. Plus, I hate biking downtown, unless it's the middle of the night and it's empty, 'cause it's fun.

4 or 5 years ago when I lived in the next town over, I was walking one night when this black car drove by slowly.
It drove by 4 other times-- once, even making a U turn right infront of me so it could circle around.

I took my phone out and wrote down the licence plate number then saved it to my notes.
I reported them the next day and it turned out that they were a group of 4 men who had been kidnapping drunk girls from off the street and raping them.
It was in the newspaper and radio and everything.

It's probably best to report suspicious people like that even if they don't do anything to you personally.

You're the M. Night Shyamalan of SPW. ;)

Why do people even behave like the guy in the car? I just don't understand it. Are there actually people out there who'd say "A guy following me around in his car like a creep, and giving me suggestive looks? Oh yes please! I want me some of that." What do they seriously hope to achieve other than creeping someone out at best, or at worst getting arrested?

This when I was 17, I came out of my freinds flat, this weirdo came out of the graveyard next to the flat, I kept looking back and noticed him speed up, so I walked faster and so did he, in the end he ran after me., I ran to my front door, I got my key in the door quick and opened the door, looked back and saw him coming in the front gate with horrible staring eyes with my demise written all over them. Luckily I made it into the house and slammed the door.

He stood staring at the house for five minutes, then slunk off.

It scares me thinking of it now, I think he meant to harm or kill me in a very sick way.

That really scared me... I'm sorry you had to go through that. I have sometimes the paranoia that it will happen to me and I don't even know why.

To the OP, I would be careful, call the police if that happens again, just in case.

You need to call the police. He sounds...like an idiot, especially the part where he licks his lips. He could be dangerous, so do get his plate number and ask for help.

That sounds like a horror movie...

Seriously...reading that scared me because I had a relative who was raped and killed by a complete random stranger. So I'm very paranoid when I go outside. Luckily I never had anyone stalking me or harm me.

im not a fan of high tech cellphones, but these are times it'd be good, to get a picture of them, their plate number, etc.

some self defense moves on youtube are pretty good too

though it may be unmanly for men to cary mase, it would feel good to spray the hell out of them if given the chance. wish it could cause permanent damage though

hm..that's not really a stalker that's just street harassment

if you were a chick you'd be used to it by now. When I used to ride the bus and walk I had people follow me in their cars and wait in their cars by the busstop I was waiting at. that type of thing.

stalker would be someone who stalks you over and over. I had a stalker in 7th grade! He was this other boy in my class, Stephen. Used to follow me to my house and wait by my locker, that type of thing. lol. poor stephen.

I do have mace, actually. I keep it at home, though.

I haven't seen the guy since, and don't really expect to. If I do, I have my mind set to get his license plate and report him. Also, I'm 6'1" and relatively muscular, so I'd probably be able to handle him.

Cars tend to make guys feel more powerful (& more virile) than they really are. So they are able to try stuff maybe they wouldnt otherwise, & even worse is if they are drunk or drugged-out (but some males dont need cars/drugs/etc to act like pr*ck-heads!).

One time i was cycling home from work, & this car did a "donut" on main road junction, then a minute later returned and CUT ME OFF (i had to cycle of road onto grass, else the toss-pots would have run me over!)

Another time, a carload of SKINHEADS stopped by me as was walking to town, asking for 'a light', twice (i just said sth like 'sorry, i don't smoke'). Then an hour/so later on retuning, they pulled-up in a driveway ahead of me. Since there were no houses nearby, I could only just keep walking, then as i got close to them, i jogged accross road behind them, then they started reversing, so i made sure i was safely out the path of their revrsing car! Not sure what all that was about; perhaps sth to do with me having a shaven head at that time??
