Soooo, the girls that I work with are planning a slumber party---AT the animal shelter. Yes, they want to invite the whole staff and apparently the public too, to sleep with them in the halls, in the lobby, even in the free-roaming cat rooms. My first inclination was to say, Um, NO, I have to be at my other job in the morning, but thanks anyway. But the more I think about it, I kinda feel like I SHOULD go. I mean, I'm always saying that I wish I could be friends with them, and they are pretty decently cool people....but, a slumber party? Really?

I dunno.

What would you guys do? (Aside from bringing Twister, of course.)

I can predict what coyote's going to say::p:. But, I guess talk about hobbies and set a time for another meeting. But, I'm a very boring person at parties, so don't listen to me::eek::.

And what he said kinda fit what I thought he would say.

When I was in highschool, student council planned bi-annual events that went for 24hrs.
-Keep the beat
-Jumprope for life
etc.

We laid out gym mats - the thin, hard ones; on the gymnasium floor and had those to sleep on if you needed to rest.
It worked out surprisingly well each time.
Brought alot of people closer to people they'd normally never see (or sleep next to. haha)

It was a good idea, I think.
And if you can't handle it, you can always make up an excuse and leave any time... but I think it could prove to be very good for you, making friends and spending time with people.

Whether you should go - it comes down to if you are a in the deep end kind one step at a time kind. I personally wouldn't goto something this drastic, from which you cannot easily escape. Is there a work drink or party you can attend in the near future? If you are feeling brave though, why not? People who work at an animal shelter? They sound like caring people already :)

It does sound like one of those things that you REALLY dread at first, but then later turns out to be really fun.

And it makes a pretty cool story for later too!

That's actually one of the main reasons I'm even considering it.

Aside from all the awesome encouragement I'm getting here. :) Thanks everyone! I would like to get to spend a night with all of my favorite kitties, lol.

I remember how I used to really like sleeping over at friend's houses, and with more friends, the better. But it's been a few years since I ever felt any joy in it, just panic, and because of that I've always refused to go, or I had them over my own house (which doesn't bother me oddly enough). Although I've recently told myself the next time a friend invites me to sleep over their house, I'm going to do it. I will force myself to. I know I used to like sleepovers, so why can't I get that same joyful feeling back? I just have to push myself to do this, because by avoiding it, it's not doing a thing but making me used to isolating myself.

So I say you should do it. :)

I like where this is going

Don't be such a guy!

So Marie you'll be sure to post details right if you go? :D

But seriously, I think it can be a great challenge to do, and you CAN make friends. Tho the public being invited too sounds strange idk maybe bring a can of mace...

But you can always leave right if it for some reason gets strange? You'll probably have a really good time, esp with animals there too!

Are you going to be sleeping?
Usually a 'slumber party' is for slumbering and a 'sleep over' is for playing. XD

Just sayin~ I wouldn't be able to sleep, anyways. No, sir!

Ahaha. Well, as far as I know, any guys are invited too, soooo, it's not just a girls' sleepover thing. ::p:

And yeah, I know I won't be able to sleep, so maybe I will have to bring a book and a flashlight or something!

IF I go. :)

uhhh... the few times I had sleepovers, it was to finish post-production work; so not so much 'play'... I'd imagine videogames, board games, karaoke, makeovers, prank phone calls, running amok would be some of the usual sleepover activities?

After work was done, we'd usually dress up in crazy outfits and go to the 24hr walmart to see how many of the employees we could freak out before they kicked us out of the store.... then maybe walk around town, stealing lawn ornaments and re-arranging them in one person's yard, facing the front door; as if they moved there themselves. They're planning something!! AHH!

Just some ideas~

Marie?
Would it be considered abusive to the animals for you to dress them up in period costumes and make them act out The Tempest?

Yeah, that's my job and title and no one's going to take it:rolleyes:!

But, anyway, guys are invited too Marie? Where is this being held? I want to hang out with girls too;)!

Sorry Pips my humor fail again :( , it was a josh as my next comment was supposed to mirror or be worse like a "guy". :) Emote failure on my part - needed more emotes. :D
