Realizing Social Anxiety is a New Layer of Illusion

If science proves SA as a condition but fails to treat it then why waste my time?. If raising awarness about SA makes it worse for people, then why should we?

If we probably invest in raising individuals to be mature, strong, productive is a far healthier investment that prevents the so called SA?

Theres no one shot magic bullet for SA, due to numerous factoers in each person, hence why one thing may not work for everyone but for some.

We should raise awareness of SA, to help educate. and maybe help people realize things dont need to be as shut in and afraid to be spoken of. ANd in that end in itself, on a societal level, give them the support they need so they too can thrive.

Raising people to be strong, mature, ect ect ect, is great and fine, but there are many who had stern, hard ass parents, and all that did was damage them more. Instead of encouraging them. the 1950's approach of a "swift boot in the @$$" doesnt fix anything.

Understanding, education, empathy. No one should be left behind. only then as a species and society can we actually achieve somthing instead of our petty inward human squabbles.

Well it depends.

You shouldn't be tough on yourself as in judging yourself negatively constantly, but you should be tough on yourself trying to achieve your goals. Not just tossing the towel in the ring and making excuses for not living life because of SA, rendering ourselves not fit for this life or society.

So you are going from one extreme to the other aren't you?

In most cases with illnesses like Depression, medication doesn't cure it, it shifts the chemical balance in your brain to get out of the self defeating cycle, it puts you in a place more likely to tackle the things you need to. The reality you need to face is that illnesses and phobias, if you have them, need to be taken seriously. If you ignore the reality of your conditions, they will catch up with you. This doesn't mean you have to live in fear of your illness/anxiety/phobia, rather you need to simply respect it and overcome it/learn to live with it step by step. Going from one extreme to the other as you propose is only offsetting your problems til a later date.
