I hate having sleep anxiety. I cannot stand sleeping in the same room as another person. It's a bit better if they're on the other side of the room and no where near me, but still. I don't know why I've always been like this.

I have a couple of friends over now, they randomly decided to spend the night and are crashing in my room on the floor. I just separated myself, and am with my cat in the living room.

I love their company, I really do. I'm actually really happy my one friend came since she's leaving for Pittsburgh tomorrow and will be gone for the next few days, plus I hadn't seen her in weeks.

I'll probably end up sleeping on the couch. feel like such a fool.

You're not a fool, that is just what makes you feel uncomfortable.

:) Good! Nursing homes can be upsetting, I hope you can continue to be brave. Sorry, but you had a good day in the end that's what counts.
Thank you, and I did have a good day. :) Ended it with some ice cream which is always nice! I hope you're having a good day, too. Or night.

I hate it when someone expressing sadness over a lost life throws in "and he/she was soooo good-looking as well, it's too bad" - as if the loss of a less attractive person does not matter as much as the death of an attractive one. A life is a life.

It just shows you how shallow people are. I don't understand why evolution has tuned us to value looks so much, it's disheartening.

You´re right, I thought of this too before.

Ah, this sucks. I have no issue sleeping with people staying over in my room, but that's just me. At least they're staying over which is nice, right? :)

Just tell them that you went out for a drink and dozed off on the couch if they ask, which they may not.

I'd rather sleep with people in my room than a spider...!
^ Yeah I ended up sneaking back in my own room later while they were asleep. Sleeping is easier when you know the other person is asleep first.

I actually can sleep easier with a spider in my room, depending on where it's at. It can't stay there for long though!

^ Right. I just wish I was actually open about it. Instead I just went with the excuse that I needed to tend to my cat.

Which I kinda did. He's been really attached to me lately, especially last night. He's terrified of other people, so he was starting to whine when I was in the room with them. So I just sat in the living room, he got on my lap and was perfectly happy.

I moved the computer desk and swivel chair we had in the living room up to my room, as per my mother's request/offer. They look great in my room. The desk is a little small, and there aren't any drawers to put things in (unless you count the pull-out keyboard area), but I suppose I could get one of those plastic desktop organizer thingies.

Why am I telling you all this? As if you care

Oh well, I'm excited. Needed to tell someone besides my sister :p

I've been thinking. There are actually some advantages to having no friends: no distractions, a lot more time to personally expand and find out about what I like, being independent...

ehm

Holy ****, did I just- Was I really- Was I really being positive?
...

No way! :D

If it's a daddy long-legs, no problem. Anything large and hairy needs to go.

I have almost this same set-up, complete with a plastic drawer organizer next to it, two shallow plastic bins under it, and a one of those thin tower like bookshelf things on the other side. I've spent a lot of time recently trying to make a comfortable, encouraging little study space.
