After Graduation last month:
MOM- Wow, this is too surreal! I never thought I'd see this day... I don't think any of us did. I mean, no one actually expected you to graduate..
You're so dimwitted and unambitious that I thought you would have given up by now.. kinda like how you do with everything else you've ever done.
DAD - Congradualtions! You've FINALLY accomplished something in your life!

It's comments like those that make me reclusive and unispired to do/stick with anything...

maybe they should get a medal for being so supportive

i wonder if they'd see the irony

I just don't understand how a mother can call her own child dimwitted!?!? why? How can a mother be so insensitive to what that would do to their child??

In ninth grade a bunch of football jocks in class were talking about how wierd i was for never talking. Then all of a sudden one guy stood up for me and looking my way said "Hey stop talking about her like that" For a second it made me feel good until he followed up with "Dont you know the quite ones are the ones who usually come back the next day and shoot up everybody that made fun of them" and then smiled at me while everyone laughed. WTF i was 14 and shy, not a sociopath. It messed me up because i never knew people would look at my shyness in such a threatening and demeening way =/

It was really cruel of them, they seem like really ill-minded ppl.

My mother once told me, a few years ago, that "you're never gonna do anything with your life! You are gonna be just like your aunt". (My aunt is one of those "weird" people who barely ever leaves the house, thinks everyone are out to get her, and doesn't know anyone except her family and son, (who's also in the same mess as her). She's always "too sick" to do anything herself, haven't had a job in god knows, and is just overall very, very dysfunctional and strange.)

I remember where I was, how I was standing, and her facial expression. I remember it made me feel like a complete loser. It'll haunt me for the rest of my life, for sure.

Just reading these comments makes me hurt, like they were said to me. It's amazing how some people can be so mean and rude to others. ::(:

Yeah, I guess but it seems as though my moms's in the same boat as some of the others on here. They just don't really seem to truly understand how the things they say can greatly impact their kids lives...

I'm very sorry, they were being so mean!I really hope it doesn't get to you too much though.

thanks and nahhh, I'm use to them by now and know better than to dwell on their words for too long :)

My mom just told me that I'm selfish & don't care about anyone cos I always spend my time alone.I tried to tell her that I just like being on myself & I DON'T HATE OTHERS but she didn't believe it & said its just an excuse.

When I was a kid: "She sounds like a man" "what...who said that?" and then the friend replies "the one who sounds like a man"

Why I only ever spoke in a whisper as a child.

"Don't her eyes look burnt?!" "She looks like she's woken up from the dead!" "No your eyes are to baggy" and "Are you tired?"

I've been insecure about the dark circles under my eyes up until this day. Used bleaching cream in the past but they are still there::(:

Another one is during a confrontation with a friend she says: "You think your the only one with problems" "Sort you head out."

And also "There's so much going on in the world" really makes me feel sick in the stomach.

My mother said: "You gave me stretch marks" and "Your not clever enough to go to university"

Today while I was at the mall, I was in American Eagle and then my brother comes in.

He says, "I thought you were in Charlotte Russe?"

Me: "Well, I was, but then there was this huge group of girls just gossiping and talking really loud, even though they were right next to each other. And even though I'd go to another rack, they were always there crowding. I couldn't take it, so I left."

Him: o_O "I really don't understand you sometimes. Stop being so antisocial."

It didn't totally get to me, like tear me apart, but it did sting a little. It makes me think that I'll never have anyone that understands. Anyone in RL, that is. :/
