Does anyone else here struggle with migraines, either classical or common? I'm already aware of the commonly recommended ways to cope with them, and the triggers, but just figured it would be nice to see what others have to say about them and share their stories and whatever else.

I don't think there's much worse than a really bad migraine. I don't get them too often but when I do it's really awful. I find that lying in a darkened, warm and quiet room works best while staying as still as possible. It also helps me psychologically in a way to know I don't have to move to get anything such as a drink or something prepared in case I feel nauseous (gross I know..) so I'll have a big pile of things I might want next to me. Other than that trying to sleep is the best thing. That's just what works for me anyway.

I think finding the right migraine medication is crucial. Some work well for some and not at all for others. Have you tried a few and found the one that works best for you?
Regular exercise also reduces the number of migraines I get each month.

I don't get migraines, but instead get ice pick headaches. It's weird because usually ice pick headaches are more common in those who suffer from migraines, yet I have no history of migraines at all. I don't get them as often as I used to, usually they just occur when I'm very stressed or I've been looking at either the computer or tv screen too much.

Yes I get migraines. Now I get them about twice a month.
Years ago I used to have them 3 days a week, it was horrible.
My doctor send my to a specialist (an anaesthesiology doctor).
He used chiropractic and acupuncture. Everytime I walked out of his clinic, I felt my neck and back being more relaxed than ever. After going there 3 times, I was completely migraine-free for a whole year. Amazing.
Later, I began having migraines again, but not as often as I used to. I will go to that specialist again soon actually.
So I strongly suggest trying chiropractic & acupuncture!!!!

I usually always get head pains of some sort. It's quite rare if I don't have an head ache. The odd thing is I don't get a hangover when drinking. I just feel like I have one constantly lol.
Nothing I have done has made them go away, nothing was found to be wrong when I went the doctors. I just live with it! (though some days they are harder to cope than others, sometimes I can not move and just lay in bed due to the pain).

Then I get a day like today where I do not feel so bad.

I get them here every time the weather changes, and man it SUUUXXXXXXX. Alot of people in this city do, somthing to do with pressure changes and being so close to the mountains.

The last one I had felt like i had white, hot needles driving into my skull. Usually i take tylenol extra strength and go to sleep.

I've never found anything that works for my migraines, but I've also never asked my doctor for prescription medication for them. My cousin swears by Imitrex, fwiw.

I have them from time to time. They're stress related for me. Whenever one hits (or at least the warning sings hit), I take a lot of powerful painkillers (a certain non-lethal dose), and then hope that I fall asleep.

It's by no means healthy, but it works for me.

I used to have a prescription for special nasal spray medicine. It did absolutely nothing. It went up my nose, and then made it's way to my mouth. Which was so disgusting it made me want to throw up. That wasn't a nice experience.
