Losing weight.

Well, it depends on your weight, but I am doing sports about 1.5 hours a day amnd eat about 2000 calories..make you sure you eat enough, you're putting your body through some hard work, it needs food to replanish his powes.
And try not to punish yourself if you eat too much on day, those 200 calories extra are quite meaningless for someone who works out like you

I know they're fairly meaningless... But when you consider that before May this year I'd been surviving on 400 - 700 calories a day, plus the exercise for years, I think it might become a little more clear as to why it bothers me so much... I still feel greedy with the amount I'm currently eating, (Seriously! today I just totaled up my calories and came up to 1,470...) My stomach turned in a knot and I felt so bad for a second or two... but I know it's not... I just have to keep working on it.

One workout for one hour is actually plenty. I hope these workouts you're doing aren't too intense!

I could eat 1500 calories in one meal. And I sometimes do and I'm still losing 1kg+ per week. I think you've got the foundations in place for weight loss but please don't burn yourself out. :)

Unfortunately, I do Zumba as my main workout, which is nowhere near intense enough... lol. (However, when I cycle instead, that's a different matter... I push HARD lol) The other workouts are less intense still...

I've always been jealous of people who can eat a normal amount and lose weight... I have a super efficient metabolism, seemingly... lol. Not good for anything other than survival purposes...

But thank you for your concern. :)

You really are pushing it, Starry. That just seems excessive.

I'm not really counting calories, but I am looking out for what I eat. I had oatmeal for breakfast, along with a couple of apples, I had more fruit, I ate whole wheat sandwiches with lean ham (turkey breast), and I drank my whey protein. I know for a fact that I burned more than I ate, since I've burned about 3900 calories today (worked out in the morning and just got home from biking), and probably ate a total amount of... about 1800 calories. Feels good when you don't mess up.

400 calories is barely enough to get up in the morning. You're doing better and that's good. :) Keep at it.

Zumba is plenty intense. The purpose is not to totally exhaust yourself - it's about increasing your heart rate and pushing yourself a little bit.

You can lose weight, but I would suggest eating more if you're going to maintain your level of exercise.

However, I'm no nutritionist or dietitian so you don't have to listen to me. :)

Your advice is probably better than the dietician I was seeing!
She was anorexic looking and her only advice was to keep on doing what I have been doing and to be happy with miniscule results. Yeah riiiiiiiiight. 2 pounds in a month, the difference between crapping and not crapping. Even weight watchers promises 10 pounds the first month! I haven't even dropped a size since January and am beginning to get just a bit pissed off.

Amitush, Hahaha... Not all women are crazy, I can assure you. ^_- Just me and a few others...

And of course, I could eat that much in a single bite too... It's just that my mind won't let me...

Thank you again, Mikey. ^_^I know what you mean, of course, but I'm too fit... It takes a LOT (More than my muscles can handle sometimes) to get my pulse rate into the optimal training zone. So I have to make do with less, or push myself until my muscles burn.

But your advice does fit in perfectly with what dietitians generally say, so you are right... But, I have my mind to overcome more than anything else...

Sacrament, thank you for your concern. I can promise you though, that I feel fine on it... I know what "pushing it" feels like. I've worn myself out and made myself ill before now, and I can assure you that my body is fine with what I'm currently doing. ^_^

I weighed myself today. I'm at 84.4kg (186.1lb). That's a loss of 1.8kg (4lb) since last week!

Great result!

i'd like to get down to a lower weight, i've looked at the bmi index after measuring and weighing myself and i'm teetering on the edge of being overweight*, i've lost some weight by changing my diet around a bit, I was 192-195lbs a few months ago and at the moment i'm 184-186lbs but it seems difficult to get lower than this, which i'd like to do. i've tried exercising regularly 2-3 times a week and doing sessions that would proper tire me out and make me sweat. but when I was doing this I only lost about 2lbs off my total weight over about a month... and again couldn't lose anymore weight.

(*i've no idea if the bmi index is actually legit or its flawed)

According to BMI, I've apparently got to be around 70kg for my height, which is a loss of around another 16kg, which is NOT happening. I would be anorexic if I got down to that.

I believe BMI is just a guide. If you're feeling healthy, then that's as good as you can do.

Good job Mikey!!
Thank you so much, Escape! :D

yea I think thats true, as long as a person feels ok with being how they are then there isn't really a problem. even though some people wouldn't say i'm overweight I feel very self conscious about how "big" I am. i'm gonna try and get to a size i'm happy with, I look at pictures of me when I was a teen and i'd like to be that build again.

There's certainly no reason why you can't go back to that again. I hope you can become happy with your weight. :)

Well, I finally made it down to being classified as overweight. but that is probably only due to the fact that I have had the worst nausea since my medical procedure.

That's a good result, InvisaLady. :) Sucks about your nausea, though. What's caused that?

Weighed myself this morning and I only lost 0.4kg (14.1oz) since last week. I didn't really do anything differently as I normally would. It's a disappointing result but I can't just think of it as the result I got last week, but an overall weight loss.

I'm down to an even 84kg (185.2lb) now. That's pretty good.

Bmi is a range. its quite a broad range of what a healthy weight is for your height. Falling inside BMI will not make you anorexic. Like I said its quite broad eg my bmi range is

129lbs -174lbs

or

58.5kg - 78.9 kg

Thats leaves a good bit of room to maneuver
