Loneliness can suck, sometimes it helps to just chat with people online (or in RL) or go do something as a distraction - reading, writing, watching Korean dramas... (I digress...) or run or work out?

if I were you I would start by ditching the porn collection. That's probably one of the reasons you have sex on the brain so much and if you can't talk to a woman without being distracted by all of that then you're not going to be in control and you're just going to end up coming off as creepy.

The only porn "collection" I have would be the way-too-easy-to-access porn sites on the Internet. I admit to watching them sometimes but I 101% agree that it's not good for me and I sabotage myself by doing it at all.

I can talk to girls and not get all sexual - in fact I'm good at hiding it (too good?) - but you're so right that I should not watch it. If it was more difficult to access, I might not watch so much.

I do try to chat with some people, but I mentioned to someone else on here that the last thing I want to do is burden them constantly, over and over, with the same shit. That's not a friendship. I already have one person doing it to me so I definitely don't want to do it to others. In fact, I could be hypocritical by even having this thread open. :thinking:

I do try to distract myself, though, but I can't be busy 24/7.

I recommend watching dramas and anime - they've helped me a lot. Sometimes I get tired of English entertainment and wanted to try something new. Watching foreign films or dramas can broaden your perspective, plus you might learn a word or two in the language. It's true that people who speak different languages think differently. It's interesting that Koreans and Japanese form their sentences in the subject-object-verb format. It's like how do they think like this?!

I used to load problems onto my friends so much that one of them didn't pick up his phone anymore. I don't vent my problems to them for the same reason. It's the same old sh*t that I'm telling them.

Anime is not for me, but I do watch other things to keep my mind at bay, plus the drums. Foreign films would be good for another perspective, you're quite right.

I'm sorry to hear that but yeah, dumping on the same person over and over can get tiring for the recipient. I have had that done to me more than once - one is current - and I always fear I'm doing that, too.

I can cook some things, but I agree that doing something that gets me around women would be a good thing (as long as I enjoy it, too, haha). I wonder what that can be, though?

Quick update on this.

Well, the last few days haven't been too bad. The loneliness is still there, and it comes up when I think about it excessively. I've been pretty good at dealing with it, but it does take some effort and I don't know how long I can hold out for.

It's not even depression. It's just a yearning. A longing sadness. A feeling of a heavy weight resting on my heart. It sucks.

But I'm coping. I'm messaging more women on eHarmony and I have one talking to me at the moment, but who knows how that will go. I want to approach more women when I'm out but I don't know how. Being rejected will hurt more than the loneliness, but I suppose these are the risks, right?

Anyway, that it here. Back to your usual programming....

Don't expect too much of yourself as everyone can go a little bit 'crazy' before the holidays... (on dating sites and elsewhere...) Some men can put too much pressure on girls online around this time, so don't be too surprised if you get less response than in other less 'hectic' times...

There are books and courses (and TV shows) on how to approach women in RL, a lot of men have been clueless as well... (if you go seek that knowledge, please use it for the good though)

As for which course to take, not sure what is available locally to where you live? You could look and decide based on your interests... (origami making and flower arranging or anything creative could possibly have girls/women attending too?) Also depends on your budget, some events/courses may be even free?
