I too have extreme craniofacial HH but I prefer the Secure Topical (glycopyrrolate) Wipes because they are individual pads presoaked in the medication. They work extremely well for me. I use one 2.5% pad on my face, behind my ears and entire neck after my morning shower. It has stopped the downpours from my head by over 80% and has greatly reduced night sweats (where I used to soak my pillow). I have experienced NO compensatory sweating whatsoever! I would think it would work on hands and feet because my hands are abnormally extremely dry all day just from holding the pads while applying to face.

Warning: Do NOT apply too close to eyes or lips! (You will be sorry if you do). Also be sure to wash hands thoughoughly after application

PS: Have been using the Secure wipes successfully for 5 months now and it has changed my life! They are available through pharmacy.ca - Canada's internet pharmacy

thx for the tips guys! anyone has success with Neat 3B Face Saver Gel? I am hesitant using wipes as i thought you had to apply it when you start sweating (when everyone will notice i am using a towel/swipe to wipe my face in the middle of winter...) when you apply it in the morning, does it last for the whole day? i usually sweat a lot/the most during dinner while eating .. it's caused due to anxiety and also i am a natural big sweater

edit: i am tempted to try the Secure 4.0% as i know i sweat really a lot but i need it urgently; have an important event in 2weeks.. so i need to delivered fast; have sent them a mail to see how fast it can be delivered to my country. is Secure 4.0% same as secure wipes?

i am tempted with Avert 2.0mg also (anyone has success with that?) but i am not sure if it is allowed in my country (my dermatologist told me oral antiperspirant is banned here...)

edit: sorry making the post lengthy ... anyone who has used avert, secure wipes or odaban/drysol/driclor can compare which one works best for face and head sweating?

No, you apply in the morning after you shower or wash face and it lasts all day for me. I also have the sweating issue when eating...especially if I eat or smell anything remotely spicy. That is called "gustatory" sweating. The wipes have reduced that by leaps and bounds! I can also relate to the getting embarrassed only making the sweating worse. My wife and I like to go out to dinner and it is horribly embarrassing to be sitting in a restaurant looking like someone dumped a glass of water over your head because you had seasoned french fries! I have wanted to run and hide in those situations literally hundreds of times! But the wipes have changed that. Even if I do sweat it is so minor that it is not even noticable...and that is eating BBQ Ribs!

As far as what strength to try I would start with the 2.5% which is far more effective than the 1.5% I first tried. If you find you need an extra boost you can up the dosage to the next step up. I would NOT suggest starting with the 4.0%.

As far as Advert goes...it has the same ingredient "glycopyrrolate" but they did not work as well for me to target my face, head and neck. They are more suited for all-over body sweating. When I know I will need an extra boost I will sometimes take a 1mg Advert in addition to the wipes but very seldom do I do that.

What country are you in? I am in the U.S. In the U.S. a prescription is required to get it here but you do NOT need a prescription to legally order Advert or the Secure Wipes from Canada. They are considered "over-the-counter" meds there.

All I know is that I am very happy using the wipes. Even if I do sweat (when I need to) I perspire like normal people.

ok thx for tips HHDisturbed! you are very helpful.. i might continue with odaban and driclor as shipping the secure wipes will take too much time.. (will go abroad for stressful moments soon :( hope odaban and driclor will help)...

Hey, thank you shyguy210 and others who've posted answers to this .... I was horribly embarrassed the other day when I attended one of my classes, someone had said to me, "you look like you just came back from the gym, was it a good workout"

To which I replied, "no, why"

he said, "oh, it's just that your face is all sweaty looking"

:eek:mg:

I've tried the aluminum chloride on my lower back, behind the legs, butt area. It worked for me somewhat on the areas applied and increased the compensatory sweating. I just found it wasn't worth the hassle of applying if sweating increases elsewhere. I've lived with this for so many years, I just can't be bothered. I concentrate more on my hand sweating.

Sprawling you mean it stopped the sweating in the areas where you applied but increase elsewhere? For example if you put in lower back, then i'll sweat more in abdomen etc?

That is correct. It stopped the sweating in the area applied and increased sweating in a different area.

Grr, why do people even do that? Why comment on somebody's sweaty state? This is why I feel anxious in social situations... :eek:mg:

On topic, I think a spray OP has mentioned is difficult to apply to face, neck, etc... As others already said, best go with wipes or solution of some sort. Something that can be applied directly to skin and with great precision.

Hey Sprawling. I'm primarily bothered about facial sweating, too. What product/s do you use?

I don't have a major problem with facial sweating, mainly hands and feet and the rest of my body sweats during the warmer months. I use ionto for hands/feet. I've also tried many of the tropicals in the past.

I started off with the Secure wipes but they really didn't help me much. Among other things, I couldn't really wipe my (very prone to sweat) scalp with them.

I moved on to Avert, have used it for I think 6 years. It DOES work for craniofacial HH, at least for me.
