^no no no, stay away from alcohol and games - both addictive and can get you in trouble!!!
Can you get info on any free things/events given locally - like the library or cafes/venues may have some free events: poetry readings, book tours, presentations, gallery openings, concerts/gigs.. there may be stuff going on at a community center or such, maybe free adult ed classes or even courses - introductory or free/discounted stuff for people who are unemployed/'in between jobs'... check for any small biz/non-profit start up courses or such too.. or community networking or volunteering or such.. even if you don't go do that then, there may be free options of cool stuff to do and learn..
local charities may need volunteers for all sorts of things.. and may be happy if you contact them.. there may even be some free or paid internships, at non-profits or biz.. anything you've been interested in?
You could do a research of options.. some stuff you can continue to do later on too, or in the summer etc.
Also: discover new parks or venues, possible later employers or internship opportunities etc. (It's easier if you've seen where they are situated, maybe find them online on a map, then just go see the building, on foot/by bus?)
