Filling up your time

Maybe try out some new hobbies? Take up drawing, writing, or, if you can, cooking. Do something creative, that tends to fill up a lot of time for me.

Join a gym. Gyms can help with your SA, and you can get in shape. Theyres no better way to start out a day than with working out. Also, you can meet a cute girl, or play basketball with some cool guys to hang with. I love basketball, and i meet tons of friends at school through it.

^no no no, stay away from alcohol and games - both addictive and can get you in trouble!!!

Can you get info on any free things/events given locally - like the library or cafes/venues may have some free events: poetry readings, book tours, presentations, gallery openings, concerts/gigs.. there may be stuff going on at a community center or such, maybe free adult ed classes or even courses - introductory or free/discounted stuff for people who are unemployed/'in between jobs'... check for any small biz/non-profit start up courses or such too.. or community networking or volunteering or such.. even if you don't go do that then, there may be free options of cool stuff to do and learn..

local charities may need volunteers for all sorts of things.. and may be happy if you contact them.. there may even be some free or paid internships, at non-profits or biz.. anything you've been interested in?
You could do a research of options.. some stuff you can continue to do later on too, or in the summer etc.

Also: discover new parks or venues, possible later employers or internship opportunities etc. (It's easier if you've seen where they are situated, maybe find them online on a map, then just go see the building, on foot/by bus?)

Hmm. I'm kind of the opposite. The two days where I have to leave my house each week for school scare me. When I'm at home, time slips away at such a rapid pace, it scares me. I wake up, blink, and it's time to go to bed again.

I waste time watching movies, reading, listening to music, drawing and reading. You know. Escapism to the highest degree.

Photography is something I really enjoy, and you can really lose yourself doing it. You follow the light and colour and other thoughts just can't co-exist.

get drunk and play computer games :D

Haha, i prefer getting drunk and watching a movie, but each to their own.

Either way, if you want some sound advice, i'd say do something physical, gym, swimming, all these are good because you can do them by yourself, decide when and how long for, and they'll make you feel better about yourself. Two weeks really isn't that long, set yourself a target for gymming/swimming... you'll whizz through it.

Despite having lectures, i have like 5 days a week pretty much off. I have to keep myself busy constantly so as not to slip into depression.

Wow, i kind of wish that worked for me. Sometimes i can waste hours reading, but that's about it. If i spend too much time in front of the PC or watching stuff i just end up with a headache lol

That's a great idea.. hadnt really thought about it. I guess the only thing with public events is that i hate going to those kinds of things alone - theres always couples and groups of friends so i feel pretty awkward.
The volunteering idea is great, i could give that a go..
Well, you could meet friends at such events or through volunteering or such too.. :) or through meet-up, Toastmasters or similar.. also, if you have any interests that have clubs or societies, there may be cool clubs to join, like poetry/literature or eco club etc. And sometimes/often people from the poetry club go to public events like poetry readings etc, so you'll always know someone there.. :)

Wow that would be exhausting for me.. yeah i think physical activity is definitely the best option. I had all these elaborate plans to go swimming today, and it's raining for the first time in weeks. Oh well.
Hmm, the swimming pool is indoors, right? :)
Well, I know what you mean about rainging sort of de-inspiring people (me too) Some who I admire go for an hour long walk (or longer!) despite rain or snow or anything!! (just need strong shoes and gear that survives rain etc too!) It's really healthy to do that I guess, still trying to inspire myself to do it again.. when I did it no matter what, I felt tons better..

I'm gonna just say alcohol is a depressant so forgo that idea. Find something your passionate about and do something centered around that. also i like the exercising or swimming idea. While you are out though take a chance on initiating small tallk. even if you have to just compliment a few people take every opportunity to conquer SA. good luck
