Big northwest wind today. I was wearing more clothes cuz of the cold.

5k Time 24:59

Ran a 10:56 first 1.5 miles so that wind really slowed me down on the 2nd half of the run.

A pretty good long run, solid for the the first 20km (95:26) and went through the Half Marathon in 1:40.20, but slowed down the last 5km. The conditions were cool with drizzly rain.

I biked 28 km on 1H 38M 20S and average speed was 17Km/h wasn't competing with the time more like just finding a good route to go after, and next weekend I'll try to make a better time.

Ran a 22:54 a few days ago. Got a cramp in my leg yesterday so had to walk the last mile. I stretched it before, which was weird.

5k run today.

Time: 22:49 Daaaaaa. Good job Mist.

First half was 11:33. Good 2nd half, 11:16.

It was warm out there. For some odd reason I think I run best when it's in the mid 70s. You'd think i'd do better in the low 60s.

I felt good after the run. Sometimes that good feeling you get after you run is a reminder that what I'm doing is helping my self-esteem.

Cranked up the 8km run tonight

8.34km (4:54, 4:24, 4:15, 4:14, 4:15, 4:12, 4:08, 4:03 = 1:30). Last 5km 20:52. It felt cruisy.

Very bad news. I got achilles tendonitis yesterday on the 2nd mile of my run and had to stop. Today I slowly jogged a block and had to stop from the pain. Just walking back was painful. It looks like I'm going to be out indefinitely.

Breaks my heart. I've had an injury for the past 3 years and thought I'd recovered. Hopefully after resting this will blow over and I'll be ok.

I had achilles tendonitis three years ago. I saw a physio and he showed me some exercise and stretches to do that reallt helped.

The exercises were eccentric calf raises and heel drops. I also did stretches of my upper and lower calf muscles. Also applying ice in styrofoam cups after exercise helped reduce inflammation.

During the injury I crossed trained using an aqua jogger, and also on a stationary bike.

i did tae bo yesterday but i couldn't finish the whole routine. it's frustrating because i was doing much better with it months ago. and today, the rain made me too lazy to even bother trying.

Oh why have I never used this thread before:confused:

Yesterday I went running in the morning (35 mins 5mph) (was meant to rollerblade but lost a wheel)

Then later I went to the gym and did an abs class, bootcamp class and a kickboxing class.

Then I went to the pizza place nextdoor haha.

Nailed it.

10.3km 43:01

Last 5km 19:42.

Great times dude.

I'm trying to recover from this injury with light runs. It may be a while before I'm back.

To let everyone know, it's possible I may never be back to full strength. I know that sounds pessimistic but I've been rehabbing for over a year now and my leg is still messed up. We'll see how it goes.
