cell phones; do you rely on them much?

Yeah, I'm obsessed with my iPhone! I barely use it to make phone calls though lol. My mom is really the only one who calls and texts me.

But I love, love, love my iPhone. I am always playing games and going online on it.

If I could get a "pay as you go" phone, I would, but since those ones can't be tracked, my mother insists I keep my Verizon phone in case something happens (yeah, she's paranoid about me living in the city).

Most of my contacts I don't even talk to. Not that I have many in the first place. While I have my phone set up so I receive e-mail on it, it's by no means a smartphone. Lately I just use it for business-related stuff (work and school) a good chunk of the time.

I'll need some new WWF and other iPhone game opponents when I get my new iPhone 5 - hopefully before the end of Sept!!! :)

Not really.

In the average, I maybe send one or two sms per day, and get a phone call every two days. In the average.

That might also be related to me being a programmer, and about a third to half of my friends working in IT or similar jobs as well. So most of the communication is handled by the internet.

Though some friends try to make me get rid of my ancient phone and get a smartphone instead, so I'm more closely connected to them. It sounds nice, on the one hand. On the other, if I plan to use something for a longer time, I usually go for high quality stuff. And high quality smartphones have also high quality price tags.

The only reason why I have a cell phone is because it's convenient; I can carry it with me wherever I want. I usually don't get calls from friends or family; I am the one making the calls to them. My family and I have one of the cheapest and old-fashioned phones because we don't see the need for smartphones.

If I am in public I often pretend to fiddle with my cell phone to look "busy" like everyone else does when they're waiting. I feel awkward and watched if I don't.

I hate phones. I haven't really used mine in over year. Phone conversations feel even more awkward than face-to-face conversations. But at least they're easier to escape from ("Oh dear, my credit is running low! Got to go! Bye!" *hangs up*)

If not for the fact that I surf the net on my smart phone it would be almost redundant. It is depressing always checking your cell and realising you have no calls or messages.

I use mine to hop back and forth between some websites and to text. I almost never make calls on it but I text a lot. I do really on it too much and I look at it constantly when I'm outside.

My phone is just call and text, no internet or apps or anything like that. I don't have a land line so I use it to keep in contact or be contacted by whoever. I do use the clock as well, for knowing the time, more than anything else probably. A watch with some special features

It depends on what situation I am in, sometimes I need it all the time and sometimes not at all.

I have a simple flip phone, and there's not much I can do with it. I usually call my friends, rarely the other way around. I get maybe 0-1 call average per day, so nope, I don't rely on my cell phone much.

I haven't own a cellphone in 4 years.

A girl has been calling me lately and I've been using my mom's cellphone (we don't had a landline). If things go well then I might consider getting one again.

I do have a cellphone that I use to make all my calls, but I'm not addicted to it, its more of a privacy thing. This way I don't have to worry about my relatives answering the phone, I prefer they all go straight to me.

I have a phone but only ever use it to text my parents. (Just asking when to pick me up on a friday when I'm traveling home for the weekend)

Apart from that, I contact everyone I need to via e-mail or some other internet service. (Facebook/skype)

When I get my own place though, I don't plan on having a landline. Why bother when I can just use a cell and always have it on me? Much easier than running through the house only to get there right as it stops ringing :D (Plus you can answer "home" calls while you're out)
