Are cats really evil?

Most of the time, in movies cats are always shown typically as villains. But why? Why is it always the dogs who are the heroes and the cats are mean(probably because of some negative tendencies they do in their behavior like aggresivness. At least that's probably what some people have said) But why does Hollywood generally have this view that all cats are like that. I'm not a cat hater, I love cats as much as I love dogs. I saw a film called red dog and it was just a basic dog vs cat competition and the hero is always the dog. I'd be surprised one day the roles will be reversed. Is it because most people aren't fond with cats or is it because they has cats but they didn't have any sort of bond with them which makes them grow hatred towards cats.

no it's just that dogs are stereotyped as having the 'friendly' attitude, and cats the 'snobbish' attitude.

Yeah, like w*n*c*a*m said, it's just a case of stereotyping. Similar to how you wouldn't see a Golden Retriever or Labrador as the villain were a dog to be displayed as villain. It would more likely be a German Shepard or Bull Dog, ect, because they have a tough and 'evil' ecstatic.

It has always truck me as weird. I've grown up amongst cats and dogs, and they've always been equally friendly in my eyes. I guess most people don't quite apply the ''Don't judge a book by its cover'' rule to animals.

Cats get a bad rap, but that's because they have a mind of their own. Dogs in Australia kill koalas, wombats and sheep they sometimes maul little children to death. And just recently 2 men were killed by a pack of wild dogs, yet they are constantly referred to as mans best friend, well they aint my best friend.

YES :giggle:

Mine attacked visitors in our Bed & Breakfast house. Maybe it was my fault. I did get some displeasure from his elusive avoidance when I played games when I was 10. Guests in a special chair in the foyer / Reception room got attacked from behind, clawing at their necks, after rapidly climbing up the chair. The guests jumped and ran around the room. This Ginga cat died at a different house with parents while I was at Uni.

The cat I had years before that would come to play with me in my big playroom dungeon in our pub, but poo'd on my Scalextric car track and Hornby train tracks, which I didn't notice until my toys went round the tracks quick, spreading the muck all over the walls, the floor and me.

Best beautiful one I see in public is a very friendly and well trained, and always comes to greet me in the car park and wants to come in. When I try to put her out after an hour or so, to set her free, as I don't have food for her, but struggles against me, with claws into the carpet and dashes off into another corner. It's emotional when she stares at me with crying eyes and a hi-pitched sob :crying: other than the usual open-mouthed meeoooww

Impossible to get her out. Very clever. Exactly like an argument with a girlfriend

But every day, she still loves me, approaching with a headshake, rubbing up & down me, and stands on back legs, staring at the sky, like a meerkat ::p::inlove:

Cats are well up themselves. Stealing people's seats, whining when they don't get some of your fish or meat, meowing on the other side of the door and then when you let them in, they want to go back out again. Brushing against your leg, then when you bend down to stroke them they walk away.

this is partly why i find cats so charming and interesting. i think their cattidues are hilarious, but of course kitties are very much individuals and the degree / frequency of cattitude can vary.

Is their nature / attitude very closely linked to big cats?

Well, I think cats are very intelligent and, from experience and how you treat them, they can be incredibly friendly. Dogs are stupid / dumb / lazy but a rottweiler? ferocious

My last and very important girlfriend kept describing herself as a cat.

My standing with recruiters: My intelligence is a world beyond them, while they gain incredible social status similar to prosperous Estate Agents, by... uh... umm... smiling. :sarcastic:
Type of dog, being lazy, incoherent, loyal, but also very cruel and vicious, judging any stranger in a street to bark at, or how they speak to people on the phone

Hey listen, I didn't mean to offend anyone on here. I'm just telling it how it is with typical gender roles like these. Again, sorry if this was an innapropriate thread to make.

People don't own cats, people get owned by cats.

Haha, I have a plaque that says, "As every cat owner knows, nobody owns a cat."

People have different experiences with different animals. Some breeds of cats are also friendlier than others (mine is one of them, although she's scared of strangers at first).

Nothing is really "evil". Evil is simply our way to think of something whichs actions or ideas or whatever stand in stark contrast to our personal values. Since values fluctuate, so do what we understand as "evil".

Cats are sometimes shown as that, because they seem to be mysterious, sneaky, and incomprehensible. Unlike dogs, that seem to be loyal and straight forward.

I don´t like when they play with the mouse before they kill her, but I don´t think they understand it causes her pain. It´s not like people who know it and do it on purpose. Animals just follow their instincts, they chase everything that moves.. I think it´s no good when people try to apply human traits on animals. They can be annoying sometimes, like one of our cats who jumps at night to my room and makes the carpet and everything dirty, hides somewhere and I can´t get her out. But she doesn´t know that I mind getting the carpet dirty, she doesn´t know what dirty is, and she doesn´t give a crap if she wakes me up

After a little light research it would also appear that dogs aswell as cats and many other animals will in fact eat their deceased owner...Intrestingly the only dogs I saw mentioned as eating their fallen owners were pugs...a few different cases involving pugs. Then again I didnt spend long researching...kinda creeps me out.

6 terrifying instances of pets eating their owners - The Week

This is your idea of "light" research, J?
