I was just wondering if there are any musicians here? I play bass guitar, drums, guitar, and do some vocals. I play mostly metal and sometimes rock what do you guys play? I have never been in a band and am currently trying to create one already got a vocalist and I'm doing bass xP. I'd have to say my favorite instrument is the bass guitar, I play with plucking and picking. Is anyone currently trying to learn a song? I'm currently trying to learn Omerta by Lamb Of God.

I have a decent ear for music, but no I'm not a musician. There's a Metal Thread you know. You might find some musicians hanging out there.

Im learning to play guitar, been recording and mixing music for about 14-15 years. Mostly do programming and vocals. My preference is metal actually.
How do you record? I always did line-in from an amp but Im trying to use a mic and pre-amp. I dont think the sound is quite as good and Im not sure if its the mic or the preamp that I should replace.
I use a somewhat basic dynamic mic and a Pre Sonus Studio One (http://www.ggvideo.com/pre/1boxk_m.jpg) (only the preamp not the other stuff)

I played drums for a long while with some bands, we even got on stage regularly with two of them (one was metal other was rock). Eventually the necessity of having to practice at least an hour every day, and without the actual drums to boot (apartments suck in this), got to me and I quit.

It is great if you can play more than one instrument. Bass guitar is cool

I currently don't record my own music. But I play along with songs and practice on the bass. As for drums I just play whatever I feel like haha. I don't play guitar to much, I'll pick it up here and there. I also do a lot of metal vocals (Screams, growls).

I love the drums, but I prefer the bass guitar. I find bass guitarists and drummers are hardest to find. I've always wanted to play music for a crowd, like not a huge crowd just enough people for it to be called a crowd. It's a fear of mine but I want to beat that fear and play great music.

Yeah, bass and drum players are hardest to find. Heh, I was afraid of playing in front of a crowd, too. After a few knee-shaking ones I got used to it. If you really want to play music you break that fear. Just make sure the band practiced together enough before stage, though.

Omerta is a real good song, btw.

I've been playing guitar for over 8 years with a little bit of drums along the way. Now I'm beginning to learn piano and develop my vocals because I want to write music soon. I love playing music and I can't wait until I have everything I need to begin writing music to share with the world. I just need to improve my skills some more.....and get my laptop fixed.

I've also really wanted to join a band and play live but it's tough because I don't know any musicians, so I have to resort to Craigslist ads. It would be cool to get that band experience, but I think I'd prefer to be a solo musician anyways so I have full freedom to write what I want. So, instead of joining a band, I'll probably just start playing at open mics soon when I feel my singing voice is ready.

I play guitar and sing. Up untill I was about 20, I played and sang in bands of different genres; for instance I played guitar in a death metal band and sang in a soul band. But my social difficulties make it too hard for me to be a part of anything with other people.
I wish I couple play in a band again, preferably some kind of noisy punkrock or shoegaze Idk.
I've only been able to write a few songs, but now and then I record pieces of compositions.

That sounds awesome! Yea the band I'm currently trying to form is going to be death metal, or deathcore. We are looking for a heavy sound.

I've been drumming for ten years. I sold my 70s woodfiberglass drum kit not too long ago. I am playing bass in a punk band at the moment

Hie yer hence from me heath!
I play the guitar (both electric and acoustic) and occasionally attempt to play the mandolin. But I don't consider myself at a good enough level technically to call myself a musician. I'm better at air guitar, though.
