Its weird man. A lot of these games are basically descended from Shin Megami Tensei (which is where my name Megaten comes from), but I dont think you'd like those if youre a religious person. They have a lot of darker themes and whatnot. Anyways Digimon seems to borrow the concept of having a pet monster thing inside the digital world like Megaten.
