  • Hi.I think like you that alot of the post Guns n Roses work that Slash did was very good.Look at Velvet Revolver, the albums with Myles Kennedy. The problem with post the Guns was for me band stability. He did not make it past two albums with Velvet Revolver or Slashs snakepit. Not that its necessarily his fault since Scott Weiland had issues which seems to have affected Stone Temple pilots over the years. They seem to have got Chester Beddington into replace him.Rock groups can be like soap opereos.Heehe.I wander how the rest of Linkinpark feel about it.Weiland seems not happy about being replaced.
Friendshop has quite a fluid dynamic to it.It ebbs, flows and changes. That makes it unpredictable and Im not comfortable with that when it comes to friendships.I like knowning what to expect and Im not keen on big suprises and changes out of the blue.
Hi.I have not heard of Living colour and I will look them up.Another good rock band with some black members is Shunk anasie.I really like Skin's voice.

Evolution in song writting can be good thing to keep things fresh but radical changes in sound I Iike less. For example Muse, moving away from heavy guitars to more electronic influences.Another group call Nine Inch nails got into the more electronic sound for some reason.
Hi.Im actually have Slash's snakepit ,its five oclock somewhere, album,on in the back ground whilst Im writting this message. The song Good to be alive, is playing at the moment.Im really enjoying the album, due to the lead singers great voice Slash's great playing and the ,brillent song writting.

Its great to find a band like Sevendust that I had never heard of with lots of albums.I have gotten three of their albums from amazon.I find the songwritting at times in parts of the some songs hit and miss, then other ones are very good. Its nice to find black singers doing rock music.Yes maybe the group has been overlooked for groups like Linkinpark,Korn,Rage against the machine, who have gotten some mainstream attention, radio play etc.

Its interesting how some bands dropped the nu metal thing like it was a hot potato, once interest in it cooled,etc.Lol.I guess I can see why they would if they thought it would not sell.Paparoach being a good example but Linkinpark still has nu metal elements.
Hi.Nothing to appoligize for since you feel the way you feel.Bad experiences help to shape our views on things like friendship.I know that from personal experience. Also in a way distorted views you have held for a long time can be comforting and becomes part of your copying strategy for dealing with some people.Do you know what I mean.

My view on friendship over the years has been quite bleak and negative at times too.Its linked to my feelings about people particurally strangers in general.Alot of them seeming to have more negative than positive sides to them. The last few years I have worked on trying to see more of the good in people and being able to take things less personally. Its something I still struggle with though but less so.
Hobbies are a good way of staying busy and I have quite a few.Speaking of which I have been listening to some music by Sevendust and Slash's snakepit.Great stuff.Do you know them and whats the last album you heard for the first time.

Yes,making friends I think can be tricky as you get older, particuraly with anxiety issues. Its a skill I think that some people have and some dont.Finding people that Im compatible with can be tricky.I tend to get on best and form friendships with people with certain traits and a certain personality. Most people seem to pick up friends as they go through life.College, university, work, the pub, playing sports.I did not manage to do that.Quite a few of my friendships seem to have had a shelf life over the years of a year or so for some reason.Despite me wanting them to continue but I try not to worry about.I quite like my own company anyway, but Im open to one or two friendships.

    Whats your view on friendships
Actually in terms of offensive Frankie Boyle jokes go I did not find the one you mentioned offensive but then again Lockerbie did affect me directly or happen near me etc. With jokes context plays a big part in wether people are offended or not.Plus the number of people offended helps define if the joke is offensive or not. What causes offense is quite complex in some ways.

Bullying at school is not much fun.Apart from the odd comment about my skin colour,my stutter( not a bad one most of the time so my speech is okay) school was quite enjoyable for me in some ways. Then again in school like now,Im tall, well built and dont allow myself to be pushed around if it can be helped,so I was usually left alone.

Other kids did get a bad time in some ways in my school but nothing severe luckily.Bullying can really affect how someone develops emotionally.
Hi. My anxiety left tends to flatuate between low to medium alot of the time so I did not feel overwhelmed or close to that at the circus. Its more of an issue to control my irritation levels when for example people constantly wonder back and forth in front of the stage. But I remind myself there is a reason why people do what they do,that maybe be fair enough if you knew why.

Being housebound sounds hard.To be honest apart from working part time(two days),one day per week voluntarying in a college garden, going to for example a park, zoo once a week sometimes,I spent most of my time at home or in the garden at home.Through habit, comfort, routine, liking my own alot of the time etc.How do you feel about being at home so much.
It sounds like you are able to get out and about reguraly to events etc.I try to get out and about to see interesting things.I went to the Zippo circus a few days ago for the first time. The crowds, kids were tough to deal with but mentally I separate that from the show itself.Good acts like bikes in a ball, gymnastics,a contortionist, clowns etc.
More and more people want the freedom to choose what they want to see rather than what specific tv channels choose to show.Netflicks etc.Yes,its quite hit and miss when it comes to finding good film to watch. If there is nothing on tv then I will read,do some gardening, watch a dvd or listen to music rather than watch something for the sake of it.
Freedom of speech and all that but Frankie Boyle pushes things too far at times I think but his less edgy jokes have made me laugh at times. Not sure why your mum is going to see him if his 'jokes 'offended her last time.Out of interest do jokes about disabilities offend you or not.

I bet quite a few Scots are proud of the Edinborugh festival being so well known and respected. But no doubt a few dont like the fact that lots of strangers decent on the town. Its like the Notting Hill carnival.Great for some but a nightmare for some locals.
Hi.If you want to talk about issues then thats okay with me.I find laughing helps to lift my spirits.Obvious in some ways I guess.Thats part of the reason why I love comedy shows, movies.Did you go to a comedy night or to see a specific performer.

I saw a great film recently on the Moviemix channel on freeview. It was called Zorro, the Gay Blade. It really made me laugh.First time I had seen it.Its great when I see a film for the first time, despite it been quite an old one.
Hi.I asked becaused I wanted to know how you were,so no worries about burdening me.Emotions and feelings to do with family, can be so complex.Feelings of frustration, some bitterness, guilt about not being the person they want you to be,feelings of love, abit of anger, disliking their irritating character traits.I can definetly relate to the underlining feelings you mentioned from personal experience. My relationship with me mum and brother is complex too.I try to remember that I love them, respect them and try to not take about my frustrations on them.See past the things that irritate me about them, since there I things about myself that are annoying too.

From what you said,it sounds like you have had it tough in quite a few ways.I can see why you might feel like your family could have done things differently to help you.

Are you doing anything about your depression such as seeing a gp etc.
Not that Im telling you what to do.But for me often its best to try to let some things go from the past,if its causing pain to yourself and others.Living in the past, means you can not live in the present.I use to spent alot of time getting irritated about things from the past and playing the what if game. What if my mum ....encouraged me more as a child, what if I had been an only child, etc.Escpically if you have spoken about it with them quite a few times without getting anywere due to entrenched views, remember things differently etc.

Some issues can be worked through though by trying to see things from the other persons
side but also acknowledging your feelings about it too.

I try to remind myself that often family members try to do the best they can in a difficult sitution. They may have made mistakes but they may have been trying to help, but maybe they were not sure how to.I know it can be very to do thing like that, espically if you believe your entitled to feeling the way you do.I struggle with these thoughts feelings at times still.
    Hi.How have you been feeling.

I saw a film call Alan Partridge alpha papa.Im a big fan of Alan Pratridge tv shows and the film made me laugh alot.Comedy helps cheer me up.
Hi.Obviously Oil is a big industry, but I think Farming, fishing, brewing,Tourism,University education are large industries too in Scotland.Quite a few good Universities in Scotland.

I find farming quite interesting in some ways, particuraly crop farming. The idea of making a living off the land is appealing.Growing vegetables, apples, cereal crops but its a tough industry to make a living in.Its interesting with the rise of green awareness, how biofuels are more popular.

Do you think about polution, greenhouse gases, declining rain forests etc or not.Its interesting how some people dont believe in global warming
Hi.I think British politics the last few years has been really escpically interesting to me at least.Devolving of powers to cities, more power to countries in the UK,environment policies etc.

Its interest how some MPS seem keen on Scottish mps not being able to vote on matters that affect only England. That does make sense in some ways.

I also wander if an independent Scotland would need to make changes to University cost, prescription costs for medicine, etc or not.Its an interesting question.

I know Scotland has different industries that bring in money.Which industries in Scotland at the moment bring in the biggest profits.
Being part of the UK does in some ways other more security against recessions,a bigger voice in Europe etc compared to going it alone.Plus like you said, its a risky business and could Scotland go it alone financially or not.Maybe they could but its a risk.
