do you like to sing? if you're more of a rhythm player you'd make a good singer/guitarist. no need for the fancy leads.. My voice kinda sucks unfortaunely but i havent given up in working at it it just feels so good to sing also..

that sucks with the music teacher. i was always the type though who would rather learn things by myself even if it meant i had to go out of my way because of SA. So luckily from the internet, i really tried to study music theory. and continually aim to (since its so confusing and it feels like theres so much to learn and memorize). I feel like I end up trying to learn from reading than playing.

I have sorta felt jealous of the good lead guitarists. I could never really make the guitar fly like some guys. And when i ask them stuff like 'how do u do that?' they often just shrug. So i decided, ok i won't win any guitar playing contests but i can atleast try to shine in composing. Since you can make as many mistakes as you want, you can take as long as u want, you can be slow. So i liked that idea

Now i want to get serious again. I have always been interested in composing primarily. I really want to make my own album. In fact i plan to quit my job maybe December 31 this year and just do freelance work so i can play more guitar and really try to compose something and just put it out there since its just something that ive always wanted to do since i was a kid and im just itching to do something that i love.

Do you play consistently? Do you have a band or also like to write or compose ?
I ordered You Rock Guitar | Learn Guitar | Innovative MIDI Guitar Technology this a week ago and am just waiting for it to arrive in a couple of weeks. Im hoping that it'll make things alot lot lot easier.

nice those are a lot of guitars i have only ever bought 1 electric it is an ibanez and ive barely used it because it takes too long to connect / clean, end up mostly playing acoustics since its easier to just pick up and put down. with effects, ive never tried using them since i was never really interested in performing (with SA and all)

so the overall sound was not really important, i just prioritized learning how to play. i started playing almost the same age as you, first picked up at about 14, but only really started seriously learning at 16. I am turning 29 this year.

But guitarplaying has really been on and off. Times that I stopped schooling in the past and times when i was serious for a couple of months and then stopped playing because of getting busy, so all in all my improvement has been in bursts and then long stagnation.

Yeah, the database says you can recieve emails for subscribed threads. Sometimes these things fix themselves. See how it is tommorow maybe?
