Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder:cool:
Haha.

I would be perfectly happy if....

No, wait. There's no single thing that'll make me happy. I could get a better job and be happy for a while before depression kicks in again. I could get fitter and depression would still occur. I could have lots of money and I would still be depressed for some reason. One change of something I'm not happy with won't make me "perfectly" happy.

I can't imagine myself being happy. Nothing that could happen would change how I feel. And there is nothing I can do.

OK leave out "perfectly" then...

so

I would be happy right now if______________

Yeah sure, is it possible to be perfectly happy? I don't think so. What does happiness even mean anyway? It's an abstract concept, different for everyone I guess.

I meant something else though when I called it a trick question. From what I've learned observing "happy" people, the concept of being happier if circumstances were different rarely occurs to them. They are happy in the moment, not dwelling on the past, not dreaming about the future.

I get a bit tired of the "meditative movement" and it's influence these days. I mean my happiness defintely depends on circumstances. Lose my job tomorrow and I'm bloody upset. No money coming in to pay the bills. Partner leaves me, I'm devastated. Doctor tells me I have cancer. Shock, horror, depression.. No amount of meditation is going to cheer me up, sorry.:eek:

Nikos Kazantzakas was a Greek writer. He had a very positive and inspiring life philosophy that appeals to me greatly, and even better he practiced what he preached- even when dying of Leukemia, he was still travelling round the world, taking in as much life as he could before the inevitable. He used this quote for his epitaph;

"I hope for nothing. I fear nothing. I am free"

If I could go on a long beautiful hike with my dad.
He's a great person to go on a hike with.

My parents aren't into that at all which is weird cuz that's what I'm all about, the outdoors. If ur ever up here in the north I will gladly go on a hike with you

...if I could be more creative.

Longing for more creativity, the curse for an artist! I know! It's always ourselves who are the biggest critic to our own work but it's that striving for more that makes our art what it is. But the beauty, no matter how critical you are of yourself and your work others always seem to find a way to connect and to it, that's what it's really about, the connection, the unification of many different people liking one thing, ahhh I'm babbling I hope that made some sense

They're are so many amazing experiences available outdoors. To not explore them seems insane. I say my dad because we always have a blast together.
I would go on hikes with him even if I had a bunch of friends to choose from. For sure, my man. Going on a hike with you sounds fun. It's a date then.;)
