Poorly cast and scripted.. why does every movie have to be scripted with "woke" BS these days..
Because most all of Hollywood films are meant to program your mind when you watch them that’s why the put all that in there - but I could just be a conspiracy theorist
It’s great to see that so many people are rejecting their agenda and not watching those films anymore cuz Hollywood is a sinking ship now. It’s literally lost more money since the woke culture than in any other time in history.
I like to watch foreign films and low budget movies now, personally.

A Quiet Place Part II - 8/10

This sequel picks up right where Mama left off with her shotgun at the end of the first film, bringing even more intensity and fear and noise (ironically?) than the first film ever did. This was much more of a horror film to me this time around than a thriller, and it's about as much horror as I can handle since I'm just a little pansy. 😆

I was really impressed with this sequel honestly. The storyline felt much more fleshed out with less ambiguity. It was clear from the beginning where they would go, who they would run into, without easily predicting what would happen along the way. I felt a little lost with the first film, and while some may like all that mystery, I personally like to have at least an idea of where the story is headed and not just constantly waiting and questioning what was going to happen next.

That being said, Part II still left questions unanswered. We still don't know why these creatures are here or where they came from. Given the very extremely abrupt ending, I suspect a third sequel is already being planned and we can only hope it'll actually address this mystery.

Although it ended abruptly, the ending as a whole was still wonderful honestly. I absolutely freaking love the fact that (spoilers!) a disabled teenage girl was the focus on saving the people around her, despite everyone telling her she couldn't do it. I mean, she did have help, but it was still mostly all her. She figured out the message, she set off on that journey, and she delivered the final blow. The most badass ~14 yr old girl I've seen represented in a movie in a long time. No damsels in distress here!

China sold their interest in AMC, so that's a good sign.

I heard it was bad.

Zack Snyder makes great LOOKING movies, but he should let other people handle the writing.
Thats funny coz outside of this forum I've only come across positive reviews so far. I didnt go looking for reviews so its just been what popped up in comments here and there or a friends reaction and then their friends commenting as well.

Personally I still havent seen it, but I do like Tig Notaro so I will get around to giving it a go eventually so I can pick a side 😂

Yea I don't really take a lot of notice of reviews. Too many times I've read poor reviews on movies, games, books and it turned out I've really enjoyed it. The game 'Days Gone' for example got bad reviews but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Tig is the one consensus bright spot I've read about. I've seen her clips and she's hilarious.

I just hate they erased Chris D'elia out of PR fears.

Did you know they shot all of Tig's scenes in post production, without the other actors? It's nuts what they can do these days.

Not gonna lie, I had to google who Chris D'elia was 👵

I did know about Tig's scenes being shot in post though so maybe theres some hope for me yet 😂

Cruella 6/10 - Enjoyed it more than I expected, but also idk how I feel about it. Part of me is very done with the remake trend so I went in with harsher expectations, but also found myself quite enjoying it. I think I'll have to watch it again sometime to really determine how I feel about it

Raya and the last dragon 8/10 - quite enjoyed this one, I wish it had some songs in it though. I'm a sucker for a good disney movie with songs 😅

The craft legacy 6.5/10 - Enjoyable enough, I didnt realize it was a sequel and not a remake so a few things that happened I didnt expect coz I was thinking it would be more along the lines of the original. But overall it was ok, I definitely prefer the original though

Carmilla 1.5/10 - couple moments of interest but overall got so bored I quite literally fell asleep and missed the rest of the movie. Idk if I'll bother trying to finish it. The pacing was so slow and it just felt like it was really dragging on and doing nothing the whole time. Maybe it got better in the half I slept through though 😂

Regarding disney movies with songs, have you seen Moana? I was invited to the cinema when it came out to see it not realizing it was a musical but ended up enjoying it. Visually delicious too :D

Loki (first episode)
8/10

While I'm not a HUGE marvel fan, (I mean I don't dislike it, its just some characters are really cool but some sorta suck like ant man, the hulk and captain america which detracts from it for me) I watched this first episode with an open mind and really enjoyed it.
Hoping it continues in the same vein 👍

Meanwhile those 3 are the ones I enjoy watching. 😆

Actually there isn't a character I don't like, and I really enjoy watching them all. The casting is what does it for me too. Such great actors and pretty people! 😍

Character-wise I can see why some people wouldn't like them. Ant-man is kinda bland, and I wasn't always the fondest of the Hulk, but after the reboot and Mark Ruffalo's casting, his character grew on me. Or maybe it's because of Mark Ruffalo.:LOL:

Ahh yea.. I can understand what you mean. Put Margo Robbie or Charlize Theron in the worst show ever, dressed in a hessian sack and give them the worst script ever and I'd still enjoy it

Kim's Convenience Season 5 - 6/10

(Possible spoilers)

I honestly hate that I'm even giving this series this kind of rating for it's last season. I really did not like this season and it makes me so sad. I felt it was too all over the place. The whole Shannon/Jung relationship was so awkwardly written. I knew they weren't perfect for each other, and honestly I didn't even ship them, but come on. It could've been written a little bit better. Jung's story as a whole was so rushed too. First he's in Cali taking business classes then all of a sudden he's graduated and home? What? Janet had a great story setup that they didn't even bother to flesh out either. College girl getting ready for the world pursuing photography, but still doesn't exactly know what she wants to do with her life. Or who she wants to be with. Last season it seemed they really set up a deeper story between Gerald and Janet -- I don't exactly ship them either, but it would've been interesting to see -- and then come Season 5 and it was like nothing even happened. What the...? I know this season's focus was on Appa and Umma, and I really liked that, but again it fell flat for me. I know it's not supposed to be a dramatic show, it's a light-hearted sitcom, but that doesn't mean it can't touch base on some difficult topics like it had in the past. I'm overall just extremely disappointed that this whole series ended like it did.

Side note: They missed a huge opportunity to name the series finale "Okay. See you." instead of what they went with "Family Business" which barely even touched base on what the hell will happen with the family business.

Wish Dragon - 6/10

Not much to say about this. It was basically a dry Chinese Aladdin. The animation and colors were brilliant, but that's really all it had going for it, aside for some funny moments. Story-wise, not all that original. Some good characters, but most were one-dimensional. Aside from the main bad guy, who was mostly just creepy and not even in a good way, the other villains were nearly pointless and didn't contribute anything except to fill up space and try to be funny.

But alas, it's still worth the watch just for the hell of it honestly. Just don't expect Pixar or Disney-quality writing.
