Someone called me ugly online.

I commented on a fan page of something on Facebook. I didn't say anything horrible. There were guys making creepy comments about a certain female celebrity that i'm a fan of. I commented something like "some of these comments are a bit creepy". Then some guy replied and said my face/profile picture "stinkz". I know it's ridiculous to let some idiot bother me but it really has.

The picture he called me ugly in was one i actually liked of me (which is rare) and when i'd posted it a few days ago a lot of people i know were commenting saying i looked beautiful in it etc which really made me feel better about myself. Now, i feel hideous again and really upset. Even though i got a lot of compliments from people and i get them in real life, this one person has made me feel ugly again. I mean, i must be if he called me that. Why else would he call me ugly?

Just to put things in perspective, think of the most beautiful celebrity you know, I'm sure you could easily find people on the Internet saying that they're ugly.

People online say very mean things just because they can, it has nothing to do with how you look.

Yeah, i know. I'm just very sensitive anyway so any kind of insult will effect me for days, sometimes weeks. I don't know why i let it bother me.

If you use FB or youtube or anywhere like that, you need to take with a pinch of salt what the abundance of 12 year old trolls on there say. Don't let it get to you mate. They bully all comers.

I remember one time I was playing an online game and this one guy just started to call me an ugly female dog. I was minding my own business and wasn't even chatting with anyone. He claimed I wasn't bidding enough ( it was a slots game). I had no picture of me on the gaming site.. so how would he know what I looked like. So, picture or no picture, people can be pretty damn rude when they don't get their way or when they don't like something you say. It's all about THEIR ATTITUDE.. so don't let people like that bother you.

Because yer senstive, that's why ye let it bother ya. Just sayin'... Ah can definitely relate to that feelin', though. I'm exactly the same.

Best to just ignore it, laugh it off for being an absurd, stupid and immature comment. Best to try and remain positive

Even though i got a lot of compliments from people and i get them in real life, this one person has made me feel ugly again. I mean, i must be if he called me that. Why else would he call me ugly?

Why? Attention-seeking, maybe? Or he might fancy ya? Though, that's probably unlikely. Anyway, jokin' aside here. Just because one guy calls you ugly on the internet doesnae make it true. He just wants to provoke a reaction from you - and not a good one, at that. It's like when a bully walks up to ya in school playground, all tough with their mates, shoves ye and says: "C'mon then - hit me!"

Ah know being insulted when ye don't feel particularly great about yerself doesnae help. But it's just ignore 'em. In fact, ah think that guy calling you ugly says more about him than it does about you, darlin'. And remember, yer beautiful...

You want to know how I got these scars?
Facebook is an arena for keyboard warriors.
What's a keyboard warrior?
It's someone who;

Feels too weak/insecure in real life to say what they really want to, so they hide behind the internet. They become 'brave'... 'fearless'... 'daring'....
Things they could NEVER be in real life.

They are the worst kind of cowards.

I know of some people who have acted like this and the thing is, they would NEVER speak to people like that face to face in real life.
They are pathetic.

If they spoke to people like that in RL, they would end up getting their teeth smacked in.

Oh, one other thing. I've learned that trying to sound tough over the net is impossible.
The tougher you try to come across, the weaker you actually show yourself as.

He felt the need to criticise you because your comment made him feel like the creep he really is.

Also he used the term 'stinkz'. This person is stealing our oxygen.

After watching standup comedy, I learned not to take what people say seriously. What is up with women connecting their beauty with their self-worth. That is ridiculous.

No one wants to be called ugly but there are plenty of cowards out there who will sit behind their keyboards and throw insults left and right to make themselves feel good.

Screw them! Right?

Losers like that call pretty girls ugly to make them feel insecure. It's a way of knocking you down to their level. They're also aware that females are very insecure about their appearance so it's a perfect weapon for them to use.

The guy is obviously a creep and felt insulted by the creep comment. Keep your photos private and share with friends only.

Totally disagree with that statement. He called you that because he and his friends are internet trolls and you called them out for being creepy (which I'm sure they were). One of them decided to take a picture which he most likely knew was beautiful and make a negative remark about it. That in itself is kind of creepy but that's what internet trolls do. Don't waste another minute feeling bad about what that guy said, trust me it's not worth the energy.

Why do we always focus so much more on negative opinions about us then positive ones? A lot of people have commented on how beautiful you are.You must be very beautiful, despite what one creepy guy have said.
