how do you guys feel about love? do you believe in it? do you think its fake? have you ever felt it? how would you define love? is there even a definition? does your SA hinder you from love? did you overcome your SA to find love?

im just in a very romantic mood, thought i'd get your guys' opinions.

God knows.... how it is.

But yeah, my sa stops me from finding "love" (or any girl for that matter lol). I'm working on overcoming my sa to find it though ;)

Well, when I get attention from a girl... I see that she's into me and wants me to talk to her... I don't know, I just "shut down" and "shy up"... so I avoid eye contact with her... and if she decides to talk to me... I find it very hard to say something. Thus, the "process" is never started... my sa never gives it a chance. I'm sure that a lot of girls that have "approached" me have thought that I was an ******* because I didn't say anything when they spoke to me... I was just too insecure to talk, that's all :/

do you think its just a hallmark or hollywood thing? is it like they describe in movies & books?

I think real life Love hardly ever works out like the fairy tale hollywood makes it out to be.Or at least it isn't as smooth going and you often need to put in a lot of work, emotion and sadly some hard times before you sometimes get to that happy place.

That being said I believe in love.I just think there is a difference between true love which stands the test of time, and the whirlwind lust/love that is just the novelty of being with someone new.

Yes, I do believe love is real.

But it's been heavily romanticized by books and movies. In almost every movie and book love is described as an almost Godly bond between two people, and even though love can be strong, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to be- and feel like that to be in love with someone.

Love is merely the result of the following things; initially lust, then attraction and eventually attachment. I do believe in love, but not in things like soul mates. There are over a billion people on this Earth, one is bound to be compatible with you. =3

Just remember, real love is free.. If it requires you to spend money in a timely fashion, it's not love. At that point it becomes emotional prostitution. Though, getting the one you like/love something nice is never a bad thing, just saying it shouldn't be a requirement. ;3

I still believe in it even after having my heart broken on occasions.

Real love I think is where you're able to see someone's faults and still deeply care about them. Love is important in the world. And it doesn't always have to involve a romantic scenario with a boy and girl.

love is putting the other person first , there feelings before your own , also someone you can have a laugh with , and tell them anything , knowing they wont judge you , they will just try to talk to you and understand your problems , same the other way around , oh and having the same interests as you , nothing like sharing your fav things in life , what ever they may be :) well thats love for me :)

I think my SA/AvPD has kept me from ever being in love... I think maybe it's something that my "emotional system" can't handle- or at least my brain thinks it is, thus causing me to avoid it.

Pffff I think its really rare and will continue to be to find, today everything is disposable and with each generation it continues to be more, marriage, relationships, sex, pregnancy, life situations where people should put all their feeling and responsability towards it,but no its all disposable now...........even love.......

I'm in love with the idea of being in love. The several times I tried pursuing a girl I either got ignored, insulted, or left in the dust as they ran away. So unfortunately I gave up even trying years ago.

So now, being isolated and lonely, I dream of loving someone quite often. So I'd say that my SA (and probably more so an undiagnosed case of AvPD) has kept me from finding love. Everytime I find a woman who's interesting in any way, I convince myself that I'm not good enough for her, that I would offend her if I mentioned anything to her about how I feel, and just get so nervous that I end up avoiding her anyway.

So yes, I believe in love. But not the instant, love at first sight kind. I believe love takes a while to develop and even longer to destroy. But I've never even kissed anybody, so what do I know?

The Dalt Wisney kind of love where the prince and the princess live together happily ever after is bullsh!t. Most likely, Cinderella would marry the Prince Charming for his money—he would marry her for her sex appeal. She'd divorce him after three years, taking with her millions of dollars, after he had been cheating on her with the "younger, hotter woman he met at the bar that night". The tabloids would then chase them both to hell and back.

However, when love works out and two people are ecompatible with each other, love is still a beautiful thing.

Love is a word so overused and abused that it's become virtually meaningless.

Ask 10 different people what love is and you'll get 100 answers.

If you love your girlfriend the same way you love pizza, your mom, or your dog; there's a problem.

The much-vaunted state of being 'in love' is an evolutionary adaptation to get both parents involved in taking care of the baby for the first crucial couple of years. Pair bonding.

After that, the chemicals wear off, and the state of the brain returns to normal. After that is when you figure out if you can actually live with and just plain like someone, and keep things exciting and interesting.

I think it would be fair to say you can still love someone after that period...at least in a familial way if it isn't all the passionate stuff. Be upset if they aren't around, care about them, etc.

LOL! :D You should write a movie treatment of that. You've got the perfect "re-imagining" of the Cinderella story there. ;)
