Were you bullied, teased, harrassed as a kid?

Hey Guys,
I'm working on a new untitled bullying project for TV and I was curious if anyone else out there was bullied as a kid.
I know that I got a hard time from "friends" and others when I was younger. If anyone out there is willing to share their story with me I'd appreciate it.

Shoot me an email!

Oh, I was bullied all the time growing up. There was a very definite hierarchy of "uncoolness" in my school when I grew up, and I was pretty close to the bottom. I can only think of two people who were bullied more, a kid with Aspergers and another who was tall and lanky and always called gay even though he was very heterosexual. Above them was me, and I was picked on just because I was quiet and, well, I guess because I didn't defend myself at all.

So glad that my childhood is over. I know that most people say that they wish that they could relive their youths, but I swear that people who say that weren't bullied growing up.

Yes I was bullied and teased as a kid. I never really fit in at school. Some of my friends avoid me at school but hang out with me outside of school. I used to be heavy with dandruffs and the kids would call it lice. I was called cheap too for being poor. I guess I was picked on because I didn't fit in, didn't wear good clothes, didn't have many friends, etc.

Yes, I was bullied and teased by 'friends' for being quiet and also for knowing nothing about sports and too much about history. I was also rather sickly(missing a lot of school which was psychologically comforting even though it meant bring in physical pain) it also meant that times that I would actually be there, the ammount of teasing would be greatly increased (assuming to make up for time I was 'safe' (maybe I'm giving theme too much credit)).

I was bullied too and publicly humiliated. It goes all the way back to kindergarten..that's when it all started and I never had a friend in elementary school I would follow a group of people and tried to fit in...In high school I was bullied by girls and guys...I had severe anxiety in 7th and 8th grade and, well, even until I graduated shit would happen. People just don't like me because I'm quiet and really weird.

Yeah. I was a mute so I was always picked on for that. Also I was nerdy and awkward whenever I did try to speak so things didn't go that well for me until about halfway through high school. Once things finally started to go okay, ding dong! Graduation.

I was classically bullied throughout my entire high school experience (lunch money taken on a daily basis, you name it).

It all started when I was about 7 years old, When I got into a new school. I believe that is when I turned into a quiet and timid kid and was a subject to bullying. During that time when I was at that school my parents almost got divorced due problems, which may also have affected me. Now when I think back about some kids I knew back then and the whole school I just wish I could erase all those memories. One time this stupid guy was bullying me and this teacher was sort of laughing and then said to me "you should laugh because you can't do anything about it", I was feeling so mad inside. Maybe if I went to a better school I wouldn't be like this now.

Definitely!!! I was bullied all the time for not liking rap, being a nerd, and liking Japan and anime. Of course, I'm a bit skeptical of people from Japan because I've been humiliated, and insulted by some Japanese people online when doing "language exchange", and heck I was even ignored by a Japanese friend I had in middle school after a misunderstanding, and I was bullied in orchestra for being different, for being autistic. Those were horrible days, and after what happened recently with the Japanese language partners, I decided that I hate almost all humans, since I've been pissed on, ****ed on, and stomped, even when I tried to be friendly.

This is EXACTLY what I went through!! Exactly. I was a mute during high school as well, and was picked on for this. Being an autistic with a passion for different things than the crowd wasn't easy at all.

Same here.... I was virtually a mute. It was really hard for me to speak-up. Often people thought I was a snob or aloof because I wouldn't interect with them. I was just overwhelmed by the experience. I didn't know what to say or do. I was bullied more in elementary and Junior High.

Made fun of, teased for being poor. It bothered me. Some of it still bothers me. Then in Jr. high school I had a lot of friends, we were all kinda outcasts and we made fun of everyone else for a change.

Having a passion for different things....... sums me up.
Always knew i was right and they were wrong.
they thought i was a snob to.

When i started this job i was bullied but i always had the respect of the people that mattered.
We have a tea room and they would read shit and watch the worst TV, i let them know there was no possiblity of them learning anything the way they were going.
They didn't like it and got the message .
Some of the young guys ride bikes and they know i think Jap bikes shit .
In fact they are so dumb it is funny.

You just wear them down.

The best way is to be happy it shits people!
What ever they do it just makes you smile more......... then they lose it and feck themselves up.
Game to you!

I was always made fun of in school, from the beginning. I was the shy girl, and I was always a little over weight, so no one seemed to like me much. They made all kinds of comments and little jabs that they thought were hilarious. In Middle school it was pretty bad. I remember there was this one teacher when I was in the 6th grade and no one really liked her, although I thought she was sweet, and she was a bigger woman and not attractive at all. Her name was Mrs. Hess and the entire 8th grade and 7th grade whenever they saw me called me Mrs. Hess. I mean it was ALL of them. I've been asked when the baby was due in school, I've had many people just mock me openly.

In high school it wasn't AS bad but I've almost gotten into a few fights although I'm not a fighter so I tried to walk away but some people wouldn't let it go. Some made their dislike of me known, some talked behind my back but made it clear they disliked me or how I looked.

When I was 1 I went to an alternative school, I loved it, smaller groups of students and it was a really small place a lot of people didn't like me there either. I one time made the mistake of taking five Xanax that a friend had given me and took them in school and was so high they had to literally drag me to the principals office. I got in trouble, got sent to a therapist for evaluation (it was a big mess after all of that.) and got suspended for a while until I was cleared to come back by a psychologist, I almost got arrested it wasn't my proudest moment.

Well I was talking to a friend of mine a while later and told her who I thought went to the prinicpal about it, and she confronted that person (without me asking her to I was angry, she shouldn't have done that) and the girl said no she didn't say a word no one cared about me enough to care if I over dosed on those pills. Sure I wasn't a fan of those people but that hurt like hell to have them say that. So I haven't been very liked in school, I always tried to be friendly and stayed out of peoples way but they seemed to find something to hate about it.

it's ruined my self esteem and the way I look at myself but I hold no grudges.

I never really was what you would cool a cool kid, if you talked to me, I would respond of course but I wouldn't talk to you if you didn't talked to me. So, during one year at school, I got picked on, people would make fun of me and well, I'm naive, coward or I don't know what to say, I just can't hurt anyone even if I really hate them so I just hide it ( which is the worst thing to do. Bullies are like child that have fun with a insect, when they mock someone, they don't know how much it can hurt them. More like my fault than theirs ) and if I could, I would go back and change history because that one year bullying totally changed me.
Now, well, it's like everybody I meet is a bully, lost all my self-esteem and just a little word can hurt me, take months before I can trust anyone and talk to them,...
