Want to go on a date?

I think going out to eat and a movie is fun. See a movie you both are interested in so afterward you have something interesting to talk about. :D Bowling is also pretty fun...there is also cosmic bowling (bowl in dark), which might help a bit with the SA :p

Yeah I agree with the whole bowl in the dark thing :) I mean like, where do i go to find someone to go on a date with? I recently spent a week in the hospital for my anxiety disorder, and while I was there i broke up with my girlfriend of 2 and a half years, then I moved 800 miles away to VA :/ and I am just like jonsing for someone to spend time with

Sorry I don't have any suggestions... Other than the online dating sites. I've only been on 3 dates my entire life and all three of them came when I was 38 on eHarmony.com... I'm now 41 and still at 3 dates.... I really need dates / girl friends / marriage partner too....

When you say recently, how long time is it since you broke up ?

about 2 weeks

2 1/2 years is quite a long time. Maybe, and that is just my opinion, you should wait a little before you start dating again.

The important thing is that, are you 100% ready for a new relationship or are you just looking for some fun?

I think more than anything I'm just looking for someone to spend time with, and my whole life (as short as it may be) has been focused on companionship, and being in a new place after the most ****ed up month to date just makes me want to spend time around a girl that I can really talk to

Seems like that your former relationship was not very good. Am I right ?

Just be careful with yourself :)

I really wouldn't go on a date after 2 and half weeks of being broken up espesh being with someone that long. Maybe just find a friend you can spend time with a lot.

Yeah my relationship was horrible, and thank you, I'm trying to be, I feel like I've finally been so close to dying (being locked up in the hospital) that i can hopefully finally start living

I honestly don't mean this in anyway bad, I'm just honestly confused, because everyone keeps saying the same thing, and I suppose I'll chock it up to having only had 2 relationships, but what am i risking by entering a new relationship so quickly?

Well for me, when i've had a break it takes me ages to get over someone. I've been broken up with my bf for about a month and yes its lonely but it makes me feel sick inside to think of going on a date with someone.

I just feel emotions and feelings maybe still be there no matter how it ended or how you was treated. To get involved with someone else will only just mess with them even more and you could end up hurting yourself or that person you start dating.
But hey everyones different so do what you feel is right.

I usually try to think of something outside the box. Movies are an option but If that is the only thing you do that night it is kinda awkward because you never had the time to really talk. Of course going out to eat is good, because it does give you a chance to talk and flirt and get to know each other better. I like to do something like go to an amusement park with rides and stuff. It's really fun and your adrenaline gets flowing and you both just have super fun time together usually. Plus you also have time to talk waiting on rides and walking around the park and stuff. It was mentioned earlier in this thread but bowling is fun too. You both can talk, be competitive, and flirt. Just think outside the box a little.
