Not all of Australia's outback is harsh desert, but there is a lot of that. I would LOVE to visit the north of the country, where there's lots of National Parks, like Kakadu National Park, the biggest in the country and with scenery like this, why not!? But also there's tropical rainforests there and small towns and cities along the beaches that would be just awesome. Oh, one day I will do all of that!

I reckon you would thrive, mate. If you can survive in the wilderness, you could show even locals here a thing or two. :) Most people live in the comfort and convenience of the big cities like Sydney and Melbourne, so it'll be a very different world.

yeah but we dont have all that **** that can kill you in England bud the amount of deadly snakes, spiders, crocs ect is a different ball game over there haha still would be great to try it out though might be abit more exiting knowing you can be killed at any moment.

Well, yeah, there's the danger of crocodiles when you travel north, but as long as you're smart, you should be alright. They hang around the north of the country only. :)

It's still something I'd love to do, though. We live in a very diverse country, with uninhabitable desert to tropical rainforests to rolling hill areas to snowy mountains (winter only) to towns to suburbs to big cities, so there's lots of stuff to see!

yeah its cool the best place ive been is spent a week in the Brasilian rain forest, i was not alone though was with some locals but it was cool as **** one of the best experiences of my life. its unreal the amount of stuff available in that forest from natural drugs, cures to natural shaving foam from a flower.

shame its getting destroyed at an alarming rate and polluted by illegal gold mines now though the earth's lungs are slowly being eradicated

Crikeys, you're taller than me. Although that's not hard. ::(:

I do tend to be taller than most people I meet. Story of my life!

Interesting to hear mentions here of hiking and camping out in the wilderness.

I'm big into hiking myself and often head out on my own for a day. Some friends find this weird (always get asked who I went with and get a blank look when I say no-one).

Wonder is the love of wilderness a side-effect of SA? Wonder is it an effort to get away from people and the hassle of everyday life!

I have only had one experience camping and I enjoyed it a lot. Would love to do more of it but I don't even know where to begin, and I tend to scare easily, so I'd have to be with a huge group of people...

haha no i dont eat bugs and stuff i take my rifle so i suppose have an advantage over bear grylls where i go is overpopulated with rabbits and game birds loads of natural greens so food is not an issue.
i think part of the reason i do this is i always have this feeling the words going to change and we might need to survive one day. ive studied SAS survival for years and how to survive in different environments including a nuclear
apocalypse :D

But those poor bunnies!

I suppose it is cool about the being able to survive in different environments in case of a zombie apocalypse :)

The Brazilian rainforest would be insane! Even though you weren't alone, that would've been so good. It's interesting to see how natural stuff can replicate manufactured goods, such as the shaving cream you mentioned. I would never have guessed you could get that from a flower!

Yeah, it is getting bulldozed very quickly, which is an absolute shame. Future generations won't be able to enjoy it.

I wish I was taller. I don't think you enjoy it, though, haha.

It's not so bad now: there are guys who like a tall woman on their arm.

But it was hell growing up. Tall and shy aren't a great combination.

And it'd be nice to wear heels and feel petite.

I like women of any height, so I have really nothing against a taller girl. I just feel that most guys are taller than me and I have a default weakness there. But anyway, that's a discussion for another thread.

A tall woman in heels sounds good, haha!

Not that hard really, plenty of bush tucker in Australia.

The thousands of people die on our roads each year, but not in the Australian Outback.

Snakes stay out of your way most of the time. Spiders you are more likely to encounter on a toilet seat in suburbia.

I travelled across the Nullabor to WA on a camping trip a few years back. Australias outback is beautiful and rather benign if you are well prepared.

Tall and shy is not a bad combination at all I reckon.

Being tall has its perks: I don't have to look up at anyone when we are talking and I can reach things in high places. But I don't play basketball, okay? People love to point out how tall I am like I haven't noticed...it is awkward. I could do without that! Though I suppose being tall is seen as a positive thing so these people don't mean any harm by that.

Oh, I know. Being tall means we stand out when we only want to hide. It doesn't go.

When it comes to dating, I don't prefer tall guys. No, growing up I always had to crush on the shortest guys when I was the tallest girl, sometimes even the tallest in the class. People assume I want a tall man but that is not the case. I won't wear heels when I am with my boyfriend though 'cause I don't want weird looks. And actually, thinking about it, I don't even like heels. They make my feet hurt.

Perfect hangout. Hmm

Solid, old, thick wood table. A single light eases its amber out into the dark cabin. The group drink their drink, and talk and laugh. Not a care, not a worry of what was, what is and what will be.

Right now, in my mind of dreams, it would be me and my girlfriend walking at the sea in Vancouver, Stanley Park, Burnaby, Sea Wall... I really wanna go there on holiday in Summer with her, we are planning to go there....:)
