Knight and Squire - Terry Jones
The Voyage - Adele Geras
Abhorsen - Garth Nix
The Chronicles of Narnia
Harry Potter

Mhm I was a bookworm even as a child

Actually there were several. The few that come to mind were text books I read in elementary school. Round the corner, uptown downtown or something similar to that. I believe at least one of them was published by Random House, but I'm not sure. I also liked many of Dr. Seuss books, and any books dealing with weather (tornadoes in particular).
 
I adored "The Muddle-headed Wombat and the Invention" by Ruth Park. I didn't find out until after my childhood that there were a whole heap of them written::(:

If you get a chance read Sara Book 1, 2 and 3 by Esther and Jerry Hicks. They are books that can be appreciated by children or adults alike. If you are not happy after reading these books, then you need your head checked.

I loved the World Book Encyclopedia -1971 edition

I read the entire set from cover to cover at least a couple times - and returned to it for light reading for years.

My favorite book was "A"
