Wasted Time

Does anyone ever feel like life is just wasting away? All of the possibilities out there, yet we continue to hide away in the "comfort" of our own messy minds.

I was reading an article today and I realized that I'm completely wasting my youth.
Ten years from now, I'll probably be working, paying bills, worrying even more than I do now, aging, the list goes on. I often hate myself for letting my teen years slip away...

I find that with Facebook and the internet a lot of us teens/early 20somethings are letting the best years of our lives pass us by when past generations didn't.

Your still young....the good thing is that you are " aware" of your anxieties at ur age. Ya life is kinda hard for now but u dont want to live like this another 50 years right? You can either sit back and suffer or do something even if its uncomfortable. Give yourself some slack....Im willing to bet that your really perfectionist and hard on yourself. How does your inner voice sound like? Are you mean on yourself or critical? Work on that internal voice and see how much you can improve...............Im in my 20's and you think im already going to give up? Fack No! :D

Good for you! :) It's refreshing to hear that you're not going to give up or let life pass you by! I am extremely hard on myself, but unfortunately I feel like my inner critic will always be a part of me, no matter how hard I try to rid myself of it.

I agree! Some of us FEEL like we're living life to the fullest, but living through Facebook and text message isn't truly living... *sigh* We're such a wasteful generation!

Very true.I've wasted a lot of my past on the internet in fact so much time that it has now turned into a guilty pleasure to the extent that spending more than one hour on the internet in a day gives me a panic attack.

I almost envy you, in a strange way. 1 hour each day is so light! I'm the opposite; I waste hours upon hours on the internet! You'd think at some point I'd run out of things to find on the net.

I know I've been there too!I guess starting to think about all of the things that I could've done instead of wasting my time on the internet and all of the times that I've burnt my meals because of getting too much engrossed into reading useless stuff and the crappy feeling that I would get after going on facebook browsing into peoples profiles has eventually led me to this state.

I didn't really "grow up" with the internet (didn't get it until I was 11), but I've spent long amounts of time on it when I could've been doing other things. Hell, I'm procrastinating on it now (need to do the dishes, shower, and pack a bag). Really, I think technology distracts us from the finer things in life. I kinda feel for the generation after mine, who pretty much has/is growing up on the 'net.

These days I am wasting my life. I´m holding myself back, to avoid all the difficult stuff.
I do feel that I had a lot of fun and activity in my youth.. I just got more and more withdrawn and distant to everything.

As a a teenager, I didn´t have a computer or cellphone.. I remember being a lot more active, meeting people, calling people (because there was no option of texting or emailing). In a way that was better I guess, because it forced me to be more social.

I feel like this even though I'm still young. It was my 19th birthday yesterday and I made a resolution not to waste another year. I'm currently sorting my life out starting with cleaning up my room (which I've felt too depressed and tired to do for years) and will figure out a list of things I want to (will) achieve this year.

Anyone can better themselves. Learn from past mistakes but don't dwell on them. It is a bit rich coming from me but I feel positive for once. ::p:

I've felt like that almost every single day of my life up until now. Only lately has my life felt like it has some deep meaning to it.

This is something I think about all the time. Im 17 and I graduate HS this year and I feel like my teen years were completely wasted. I see everybody partying and hanging out with friends and just basically enjoying life to the fullest.

And the thing that makes me so depressed about it is I basically did this to myself.I mean all the time and years ive wasted was all the time I could have used to improve my myself and actually get out there and do the things I want to be doing but instead I ran and hid, telling myself it would get better. Now I have to start building what everybody else has had sculpted for years.

How everyone is so rush with their life.

You're living in a developed world, don't have to worry about food everyday and you're still not satisfied? But I'm not blaming you, human tend to be such perfectionist. We should all try to look at the poorer folks, the 3rd world children, then we will start to appreciate what we have now.

So don't worry about it, just try to live today to your very best!

I actually don't I love spending time online and play video games. I live my life the way i see fit, I tend to be bored in real life a lot more often, to me that's a waste of time. I hate working so it's also what i would consider a waste of time.
