Unforgettable Quotes from Movies

I got a few good ones:

Spider Man (2002):

The one thing they love more than a hero is to see a hero fail, fall, die trying. In spite of everything you've done for them, eventually, they will hate you.

Eternal Sunshine(2004):
Random thoughts for Valentine's Day, 2004. Today is a holiday invented by greeting card companies. To make people feel like crap

Why do I fall in love with every woman I see who shows me the least bit of attention?

Prozac nation(2001, and I believe this quotes is the truth):

If only my life could be more like the movies. I want an angel to swoop down to me like he does to Jimmy Stewart in "It's a Wonderful Life" and talk me out of suicide. I've always waited for that one moment of truth to set me free and change my life forever. but he won't come. it doesn't happen that way.

Really nice quotes. Though I haven't seen the two last movies. The last one seems pretty interesting..in a dark twisted kind of way lol.

"This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time"

"You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your f**king khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world."

"The things you own end up owning you."

"It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything."

"You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else."

"I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off."

"Now a question of etiquette; as I pass, do I give you the *** or the crotch?"

Really good thread!!

I like all the posts so far. I want there to be more. Don't let it stop

I don't want to rely on any other person's quotes. I want to make my own fresh ones from my own mind.

I think all Schwarzenegger movies have moulded my mind of fury and doing something about it. I like the Bennet one.
Woke to a harsh dream just now.

Motivation is not missing. Sometimes just a bit hard to activate it

Time to re-watch Vanilla Sky

Breakfast Club

Brian Johnson: Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. What we did *was* wrong. But we think you're crazy to make an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us... In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain...
Andrew Clark: ...and an athlete...
Allison Reynolds: ...and a basket case...
Claire Standish: ...a princess...
John Bender: ...and a criminal...
Brian Johnson: Does that answer your question?... Sincerely yours, the Breakfast Club.

Sideways 2004

This film somehow was an aid to me during a particularly bad depression 8-9 years ago and this is my favorite quote. I think I like this because he's really describing himself as well as the wine and I've felt like this myself many times. I just hope my flavors do me justice if I ever reach my fullest expression. God, what do I sound like. Apologies.

[Describing his passion for Pinot Noir] It's uh, it's thin-skinned, temperamental, ripens early. It's, you know, it's not a survivor like Cabernet, which can just grow anywhere and uh, thrive even when it's neglected. No, Pinot needs constant care and attention. You know? And in fact it can only grow in these really specific, little, tucked away corners of the world. And, and only the most patient and nurturing of growers can do it, really. Only somebody who really takes the time to understand Pinot's potential can then coax it into its fullest expression. Then, I mean, oh its flavors, they're just the most haunting and brilliant and thrilling and subtle and... ancient on the planet."

I forgot to add:

(Lord of the rings: Two Towers 2002)

Frodo: I can't do this, Sam.

Sam: I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.

Frodo: What are we holding onto, Sam?

Sam: That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo... and it's worth fighting for.
