Saturday Night Alone...

I'm 19 & I was invited to a party tonight, but I turned down the offer. I spend many Saturday nights alone and it usually doesn't bother me that much, but for some reason it really irks me that my friends are out having a good time & I'm not. To top it off, even my parents are out having fun! I feel like I'm 80!

Yeah, I feel like that often, like everyone else has something going on but me. It's also a lot easier to be a recluse than to try and have some sort of a social life. Were these good friends of yours that invited you?

I wouldn't say they are extremely close friends of mine. They're more of the party-every-night people. There was going to be alcohol involved and I really didn't want to do that. Most of them have been arrested for underage drinking already, I didn't want to be.

I know that feeling, i've just turned 20 and i spend pretty much every weekend alone. While others my age are out enjoying the 'best years of there lives' i'm sat at home doing nothing.
I don't have any advice, but atleast you have some friends. The whole getting drunk and partying thing doesn't appeal to me either.

Yeah, you could have still gone and not drank. That is always an option. I know it can be awkward being around a bunch of people who are inebriated though if you're not. It's good to be responsible though, just don't let the fear of something that could happen keep you from doing something you actually want to do. I think that is something I deal with and a lot of people on this forum probably also struggle with as well.

Well, you shouldn't be going out for parties like that:eek:. But, you can go out and have fun by yourself if it truly bothers you that you're inside on a weekend. You could go to the mall, have a sleepover at someone's house, or go out for bowling or something:). You can meet people when you go outside.

But, don't feel as if you have to go outside. I'm inside on a weekend and having the time of my life:D! Just do whatever will make you happy.

Haha. Yeah. Well, they're the pressuring type & I didn't want to have to deal with that all night. But I get what you're saying.

It usually doesn't bother me this much. I don't know why it is tonight. I would have done those things if I had money & other friends that aren't busy. Lol.

Maybe these friends aren't out having a good time, maybe they're busy getting arrested. Who knows.

On the bright side, you have us to keep you company. Hoooray!

I can relate. I wish I was out right now, distracting myself from dealing with sh*t that I shouldn't have gotten myself into anyway.
