They can be hard to keep if you don't have a good set up, and unfortunately if they get sick there's not much that can be done usually because not a lot of vets really know reptiles. Our two are rescues -- they were literally skeletons with skin when we got them, now they're two of the fattest, pretentious little things I've ever seen.

Mine was a rescue as well... some ******* just left it in his house when he moved out :/. And yeah, I think my set-up sucked, though I tried very hard to take care of it
