ahh this is a really cool post..love it! And i think, definitely for myself, trying to focus on what i am..and not so much on what i'm not..has helped me to cope with my anxiety..to not so much look to things that could change me..'take away' the anxiety..but to accept it somewhat, as a part of who i am...and carve a life out that makes sense to me..cause the anxiety is part of who i am..but not the only part :wink:

Whenever people ask me 'what's the one thing you like about yourself' I almost always freeze and say nothing for a few minutes. Isn't that pathetically saddening? :cry: If it were a question like 'what's the one thing u hate about yourself' I'd bombard that person with more than one superfluous answer, and those answers are probably common coming from people with SP.

As of now, I can approximately think of one thing I like about myself, and that is the ability to stay out of trouble. And I believe I have this good attribute because of my SP. I also fear the company of others because I think they will harm me in one way or another. I wonder who else here feels that way? I sometimes fantasize that if I were a 'normal' girl, the type of girl society might accept, :roll: I would get into more trouble than I ever could with my SP.

although people perceive me as stuckup, which im not, i simply dont have the tools to communicate properly without feeling anxious. im a loving gentle soul that have integrity and morals. i care for others more than i do myself.

I'm inquisitive. That is, i really like studying and learning about things. Most things interest me to some extent. I have good general knowledge.

Nice post! atleast we're now focusing about our positive side (very therapeutic hehe!)

What I'm proud of about myself:

- I'm more sensitive about the feelings of other people (so my friends call me a mind/personality-reader, but really I'm just more aware of peoples thoughts and feelings)
- I'm a good listener. non judgemental and definitely not a blabbermouth (that's why some people prefer telling their personal stories to me than to their close friends and family... and because of that, I know a lotta hell of nasty secrets from them! :twisted: )
- I'm open-minded and knows my own beliefs and philosophies! (I'm not easily influenced by other people's ideas, rumors or beliefs without knowing the other side of things) and so basically, people asks my advice!

....However, I'm not good when it comes to talking about myself to other people. So until now, I remain mysterious to them, yet I know a lot from them! (and actually, I love it! heheh!)

Yep, I find there's nothing about me that I don't like. It's very simple really: I idealise my own personality, both because I and everyone who knows me really likes it, but also because I know that my shortcomings are no bigger than other people's. We're all unique, so we can't all be perfect, some of us are very far in fact. :lol:

I recognise when I do something wrong, but then I'm proud of myself for at least knowing it's wrong and that I'm a good person for at least trying and always obeying my moral conscience. So I don't really understand why anyone can have low self-esteem, we're all unique. I used to have averagish self-esteem until I realised this. Maybe you all will too, someday... 8)

Let me give this one a shot:

- People say I'm a pretty intelligent guy, so I guess I could say I'm proud of that.

- I'm extremely open minded and a very philosophical individual. While I am spiritual, I refuse to box myself in with a system of beliefs created by someone else. I respect those who subscribe to a religious doctrine, because by all means, if it gets you through the day, go for it. I simply consider myself too unique an individual to do so, and just do my own thing. I'm proud of that.

- This trait won't be popular with some, but I'll go ahead anyway. While I don't adopt to the "Straight Edge" label (like I said, I consider myself too unique to box myself in), I don't drink, I don't do (illicit) drugs, I don't smoke, and I don't engage in promiscuous, one-off sexual affairs. I made a promise to someone close to me who isn't with us anymore, and I take it very seriously. I'm proud of it because it's one of few areas in my life that I'm in total control of.

That's about all I can think of, really.
