I would have to say that "In a glass cage" is pretty 'brutal'.

The "August Underground" series also qualifies as "brutal", "repugnant", "disgusting", and so on...

Gozu - at one point woman gives birth to a full-grown man, that's pretty brutal.
Audition - the torture scene at the end.
Switchblade Romance - there's two minutes worth of gory killings that's just insane.

I recently watched Tokyo Gore Police.

During one part some girl with sewn nipples bit off a guy's dick, then he regrew a new one that was like 3 feet long.

Pretty awesome movie.

The OVA M.D. Geist was cool, too. Lots of ultra violence in that one.

Internet, magazines, friends, places, people. All over.

Are you really sheltered? Perhaps you are.

A French Film Called irreversible with Vincent Cassel who happens to be one of my favourite actors. film starts at the end and plays through to the beginning of the story. Has a women being raped in a French subway which left me haunted for days.. very powerful film.

Definitely one of the hardest films I ever had to watch. It's not like your average film, it's told in a reverse manner, which means that it's being told from end to beginning. A similar theme would be the film Memento, which is another excellent film as well. The rape scene was hard to stomach.. the woman who was raped was played by Vincent Cassel's real wife, Monica Belluci. There's another scene in the film which is quite brutal as well. It involves a face and a fire extinguisher.. no prizes for guessing what happens next..

Im not that keen on horror films unless there is some intelligance behind them, mindless gore doesnt do it for me,and i really hate this culture of "gore porn" we have.

Saying that I think the first saw was really good, and while not a really brutal film,i watched somthing called Mirror's i think, and in one part this woman, gets her jaw hinge sort of ripped wide open off a ghost, that was pretty nasty.

Has anyone watched any of the August Underground movies? I had to switch off "Mordem" after the first half hour. More out of embarrassment than fear. I was watching alone in the dark with the curtains closed and I felt like I needed a bath with a pot scourer and some industrial skin remover.

I don't know about most brutal, but American Me, I think that was a pretty brutal movie, there are others, but that's one that comes to mind at the moment.
