99% of all species that ever existed on this planet have gone extinct - a vast majority of them long before humans ever came around. Humans have only been here for a very short time. Species will go extinct with or without the assistance of humans.

Maybe it was insensitive. Although I have known girls who like to go around calling themselves ugly in order to get compliments. That probably comes down to low self esteem as well.

Yeah due to nature,natrual selection and evoloution...volcanic eruptions,things such as the ice ages and changes in climates.Animals and there habitats have never been wiped out on such a scale as this without a chance to recover.

And as clever as apes (well orangutans gorillas ect)are...comparing us to them really doesnt fly for me in the way your trying to claim.Yes apes are smart...but so are bottle nosed dolphins..and we have like maybe 5-1 million years of seperate evoloution.They might have superior short term memory to us,probaly somthing they need in the wild to survive.But we also have bigger brains...(twice the size of a chimp).Also our brains are wired differently to put it in simple terms..and allows for longer periods of social interaction than apes.

I think we can learn alot from apes..but there more like a distant cousin to modern homo sapiens.
