Pick up an old total war on steam and give it a go.

Shogun 2 is pretty good and cheap.

Played the one with colonial empires as well as Napoléon, it was awesome.

I love colonialism history. Age of empire 3 is probably the best of the genre.

I'm sorry I have no idea! I play it on the PS4. I do have a notebook and it doesn't even run photoshop let alone a game aha. Might be worth asking around though

Consoles are way better imo. No worries about sys specs and graphic cards, playing on a TV, the joysticks, way less cheating and lag...
