while i'm glad that you have been able to resolve the problem to your own satisfaction, i'm worried that by allowing the perpetrator off the hook, he/she will simply find another victim to bully

Bo, you should report him/her to the mods. Coyote is right in that by letting them off the hook, you have allowed them to continue bullying.

This is a support forum and something like that shouldn't be tolerated.

I've not seen any of that going on that I know of. I have the confidence that if it were to happen and be brought to a moderator's attention it would swiftly be dealt with.

If you have a problem with something that somebody said, trying to deal with it yourself (especially if you're upset) probably isn't the best idea, because chances are you're just going to aggravate the conflict and grudges will probably be formed.

It can be a hard temptation to resist, however.

I haven't come across any bullies on here. I have met many people who had been bullied in their childhood/teenagehood. I think there's something about this forum considering it's socialphobia... and it's difficult to find a bully who's a socialphob.. but some do exist.
Also social phobia is mainly about "what others think about me" people who bully people obviously don't care for others... or what the person thinks about them.
