so I saw a thread that's all about reasons why we're dumb...I didn't like the negativity of it so I decided to make this thread

Reasons why I'm awesome:

-I'm a blackbelt in karate

-I'm a pretty good snowboarder

-I'm funny when I finally come out of my shell and start talking

-I'm the nicest guy you'll EVER meet

-I'm good at freestyle skateboarding

-I'm my own man and I don't fall victim to fads and crazes

-I'm going camping today

-I've had like 5 different girls (That I only knew on the internet) say they love me

Im awesome because
- I get lmfao all the time when talking to someone. lol
- I can dance really well
- Although I dont see it, my sister pointed it out to me that after she introduces me to people, they tell her that they love me, and want to hang out
- Considered quite handsome (if i dont say so mayself) lol
- I can get perfect scores on essays without even trying, especially if its an inspirational one
- And I have a Taz tattoo. lol

Sorry, I don't feel awesome. But if I did, it might be because:

-I'm wonderful. At least that's what all the old ladies say. The young ones ignore me, but the old ones know a good man when they see one.
-I'm helpful. Rare indeed is the time I turn down a request for help.
-I'm handy. Around the house, in the yard, or under the hood, there's almost nothing I can't do and do well.
-I'm a musical chameleon. I don't really write too much of my own, but I can pick up almost anything and adjust my playing to match the song nearly perfectly.
-I'm pretty good at identifying birds. Especially accipiters. Just don't ask me about warblers, especially the autumnal variety.
-I don't need someone else to make me happy. Conversely, I don't need anyone else to make me unhappy, but I prefer the former phrasing of it.
-I used to write poetry that was good. I also used to have long, wavy brown hair.
-My favorite d20 usually rolls like crap, but I stick with it anyway. It sure is great to base one's opinion solely upon looks.
-I'm understanding of those who didn't laugh or smile at my previous reason for being awesome. And I can sympathize with those who actually did.

I agree that it's very difficult and uncomfortable to talk about ones self in a positive manner. I've been brought up to be modest, and it's easier for me to fall into the trap of putting myself down and focusing on my bad points. It's the same regarding interviews and having to sell myself. I feel phoney acting all self confident when in fact i have very low self esteem.

I wish I could feel like this about myself, but I´m afraid it will never be possible. I was treated my whole life like crap by those who are closest so I had noone else (who matters or could have enough influence) to define my self-worth. I feel disgusted by myself for the way I get treated and for being a "daughter" of this mother****er. I am even cursed by having his genes, so what can I do? I see no reasonable escape to my destiny in this life, only trying to be good and blah blah blah, which i am doing or at least trying to do. At least I think I am not doing harm to anyone else, that´s my positive.
(Sorry for this negativity in a positive thread, that´s me again I think I am like infectious disease).

I'm awesome because I actually wrote a song about being awesome like a month ago. Its called "I'm Awesome" I might put it up on my youtube page after the finals.
People on youtube seem to really like my music so far, that makes me feel pretty awesome.
I'm a really nice guy, like most people here.

- I'm bilingual
- I am often told I am a great writer in both English and Portuguese
- I am a good photographer
- I make pretty decent music
- I am a good friend, a good listener, and I am usually able to help when someone comes to me with a difficult situation they are trying to handle
- I wrote a piece that was dedicated to my grandfather when he died; my family loved it so much, that they tried to read it at the funeral, but tears and pain got in the way; my grandfather took the original print with him, as it was put on his chest
- I am a hard worker and I always get good 'grades' at work (they monitor everyone every month for statistics and so forth), thus getting a little extra on my salary every month
- I have won two literary contests and have been offered two contracts to publish a book
- My music has been played live in Miami (can't recall the name of the event) and I suppose other live events, and it has been put out on vinyl years ago. I was approached by a music label who made the proposal
- I suppose I am smart, and I get decent grades in college/school without trying too hard (although I tend to use this to my own advantage and shouldn't)
- I had karate lessons years ago and have a couple of diplomas from exams I passed
- Some of my poems are going to appear in an anthology that is coming out this year, along many other poets' works. I am excited.

I do too. When I was in high school, I had this ongoing competition with a friend that took place throughout the year, and we ended up tied 14-14. It was always fun as hell to play whenever we didn't have class or, yeah, skipped class.
