Do people with shaved heads give a bad impression in general?

Do people with shaved heads give you a bad impression? I have been shaving my head every two weeks since I was 15. I don't exactly shave, but use electric clippers with no blade guard (a zero cut), mainly because it is more comfortable. But I have been told that my looks intimidate some people and that they're a little scared when they have to talk to me (although my serious expression could be a reason for this). I think my shaved head might be one of the reasons no woman has ever given me a second look in my entire life. Not that I'm going to change at this point, I will continue to shave my head every two weeks until the day I die, no matter what; I am just curious as to what people think about this.

No ,I think it's something else not your hair cut.I think your attitude is more important.

Yes I understand, like Boby says attitude is more important when it comes to women, but I am talking about a first impression, not only with women but people in general.

I was bald for a couple of years and got the same reaction, but only from my family since it was such a big adjustment for them. I don't think people I met for the first time found it too intimidating. I've only recently gone back to having hair.

It depends on the person ,I don't label anyone from the start because they look in a certain way, indeed there are some ppl who do but i don't think you wana be friend with those kind of ppl.

I don't know, but from what I've seen, a shaved head is not considered a flattering look for anybody; of course, that doesn't say anything about the subject's personallity, but that is a whole different matter, I am talking about the exterior only.

Well there is the neo-nazi vibe some paranoid people get from it (not implying you are one!) , but I suppose that depends on your area, if that type of thing is a problem.

Where I am most people assume those with shaved heads are eastern European, as those are the people who wear it like that most often. Or in the army.

I wouldn't assume the worst about someone just because they had a shaved head.

I think it all depends. Some people have baby faces or softer features and a skinhead doesn't come across as intimidating. Where if you naturally have that rough look or are physically intimidating a very short hair cut can exaggerate that.

I alternate between having short back and sides and shaving it all off, when shaved I tend to get stopped by bouncers more and also tend to attract more drunk posturing and macho bs from other guys

FallenFeathers summed it up.

You have to realise that there are going to be stereotypical arrogant types who have their hair shaved or not.

But there are loads of people who have their hair short and are nerdy or are really nice. The only difference is that they don't have their hair longer.

There are even girls who keep their hair short and then grow it out and really we are looking at the face most of the time anyway if we are friends or just interacting.

From what i've learnt. Knowing people who are into EMO, punk, rock, dance. There are alot of different hair styles. But the people are generally nice, especially in Generation X & Y.

Some of the older more roughed up people are of course going to be really intimidating. As was said before some people just have a roughed up look to begin with.

I have a baby face so i've had periods where i had my hair really short and other periods where i had it longish rock style.

I used to shave my head, just for comfort and I looked pretty okay with it.
I did experience people saying I'm different then I look, some thought I was more agressive instead of shy. However I don't get intimidated by people with shaved heads and the people that do are just stereotyping you.

I stopped shaving since I thought it was time for something new but yeah, if you like to shave your head, just do it. Your the one that's supposed to be comfortable with what you look like, not others...

I'm actually considering shaving my head pretty soon. I have a pretty bad receding hairline (thanks dad). So, yea, I'm kind of curious what women think of a bald head, lol.

I think it's a better alternative to receding hairlines.

I'm far from being a neo nazi, there aren't many of those where I live, but there are a lot of criminal gangs, and some of their members shave their heads, so maybe some people here relate that look to criminals because of that.

About the rough look some of you have mentioned, I think you're right, because frankly, I'm not easy on the eyes, and the shaved head look accentuates that.
