Limp live. Oh, and just so everyone knows, this countdown is technically countdown the days to spring, because the release date hasn't been announced yet, probably so they don't have another Free Fiona situation. I'm being optimistic though, they say out in spring, I hear first day of spring. :D

Sleep to dream. You can tell this is one of her earliest preformances because she is keeping the The microphone on the stand and holding onto it for dear life. She had never done any live performances when she was signed, because it happen so suddenly, so she was uncomfortable on stage at first, stiff and using the stand "As her anchor" as she has said before. The only reason she stopped keeping it there is because one day it fell off and she couldn't put it back on, and figured it wasn't so bad after that.

Here's the album cover to her first album, Tidal. Also some of the pictures that came with the album. I like the white, good cover.

The album cover for when the Pawn. What's cool about it is red part it like see-through paper with the poem (title) on it that you can flip over to see just the face underneath.

Here's the cover for her 3rd album, Extraordinary Machine. She actually took the picture herself, of a blooming flower bud in her back yard. Prit-y cool if you ask me.

So I should probably tell you all a bit about Jon Brion. He has worked on all three of of Fiona's albums, and will probably work on this upcoming one as well. Preformed with her often at the Largo, and is a cool guy. He has a done quite a few film scores, including Magnolia, Punch-drunk love, Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, and The Other Guys. Was th producer for Fiona's second album and the unreleased version of the third, and was an instrument guy on the first. Also produced albums for Keane, Elliot Smith, Spoon, and Aimee Mann. Here's one of his own songs from the soundtrack for the movie I heart Huckabees.

So Fiona was a pretty significant force in the late '90's, influenced many of todays singers. When I first heard Fiona I liked her a lot (if you couldn't guess) but unfortunately she only has had 32 studio tracks in 14 years, and I wanted more, along with other artists like her to open my horizon. If you ask me there is no other musician like Fiona, very original and unmatched in the music world (I've tried to find very hard, no avail) but did find several artists with qualities like her, taken from her most likely. I went through many artist, and the first I found that I actually liked enough to get was Anna Nalick. She is much poppier than Fiona, but has a quality to here. From iTunes "Citadel" has a cool, dark-toned Fiona Apple vibe." So here's Citadel.
