So what are some of your favourites, what are some recommendations?

Well lately after this series being all around me,I finally saw the first season of Shingeki no Kyojin(Attack on Titan) and it was amazing to me:
Shingeki no Kyojin - Trailer - ASMV - YouTube

But be warned that there are some pretty graphic scenes....great soundtrack too.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of my favorite animated shows. I definitely don't think the live-action movie did it justice.

When it comes to animated movies, The Prince of Egypt and The Hunchback of Notre Dame have been my two most loved animated movies for a really long time now.

You want to know how I got these scars?
I remember watching the cartoon type movie 'Fire and Ice' years ago.
I think it was acted out by real people, but then somehow they put the animation over the actors bodies to make the characters look more life like.
The story was cool..Nekron was a real bad as* :)

I always recommend Secret of Kells, which is a little abstract but different with a beautiful and elaborate style of art.

neon genesis evangelion
death note
akira
ghost in the shell (only the movie, I didn't like the series)

I haven't watched anime lately but I've been thinking about watching cowboy bebop.
The last one I watched was bubblegum crisis tokyo 2040, but it was just out of nostalgia, it's actually pretty bad.

Avatar The Last Airbender is my favorite animated show of all time. Just perfect from the start to finish. Avatar The Legend of Korra is my second favorite, it doesn't really have anything on Avatar The Last Airbender but it's good. On the other hand, Wolf Children Ame and Yuki is is the best anime film I ever watched. Polished to Perfection.

Neon genesis 1 & 2. Not the rest.

Akira, hell yeah!

Ghost in the Shell 1 was good, I think 2 was good too. Series--meh.

Cowboy Bebop is quality stuff.

Akira
FLCL
Beserk-NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART

Here are my favorite animes
Death Note, this series is absolutely fantastic. The first time I saw it I had heard of it but wasnt terribly interested, after a few episodes I was hooked and I actually started to cry at the last episode.
Gunslinger Girl, a somewhat depressing series about young girls being used as government war machines.
Black Lagoon, a really awesome over the top action anime.

For non Japanese animated shows, I would recommend the Dark Knight Returns Part 1 and 2, I personally loved it more than the new live action movies.
Flashpoint Paradox was also really really good.
