A question for virgins ?

I wouldn't cheer them on, but at the same time, I really don't see a problem with someone having sex every once in a while, even if it's with different people. I'm 18, and the vast majority of people my age (from what I see) are not looking to settle down and get married. People of both genders will have sex with their opposite gender friends and as long as no one's getting hurt, it doesn't matter. If I had a girlfriend, then I wouldn't go to escorts. Some people don't want to settle down and it's their business. Don't force your opinions on other people.

I'm not forcing my opinions on other people. It wouldn't work even if I tried. I'm merely expressing myself.

So you don't mind if your daughter becomes a prostitute or joins the sex industry. You might change your opinion once you settle down.

I hate going political here, but I haft to agree with MrSunday. I find prostitution to be both unworthy and a very unpleasant backside of society which seems to be acceptable nowadays, why that has happend I dont' know. I don't like the spectacle regardless of women being forced into it or have joined it voluntary, the idea of paying someone for a brief sexual service is sickening. That activity is supposed to be between two people drawn to each other, usually as part of a relationship. Now you have the man paying the woman money. The argument that it's because they got no other way to acquire money is true, but what does a man when he's broke/homeless? What does an elderly person do? A child? How long are we going to let them be paid for sexual meetings before we give them help? What a way to let the problem "solve itself". Let's not forget trafficking which runs succesfully largely due to the whole industry of prostitution.

Sexual relations are part of a relationship, brief or sustainable, nothing you pay money for. It's extortion of both men and women.

There, I'm done. Let the hate start. Plus I also want to remind that the discussion doesn't belong in this thread in the first place, so I'll only do one post.

You're not even sure if there are regulations to prostitution (there are, depending on region. Amsterdam for example is regulated). i can't take you seriously when you claim these are your own views and not those of the documentary narrative that you watched.

I live in the UK, so I'm more familiar with issues with regards to prostitution in the UK. BBC NEWS | UK | Q&A: UK Prostitution Laws I'm also familiar with prostitution problems in places like Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, India and so on.

I always believe prostitution was wrong. Watching the documentary and speaking to some prostitute reinforced my views.

How can you condemn mainstream media when it seems to be your sole source to base your harsh judgement on prostitution and the people here, who choose to be with a prostitute?

I don't rely on mainstream media, though I'm familiar with them. There are other news sources that I consider too. Overall, I try to gain as many views as I can and compare them.

they have actual life experience and i have faith that their conscience wouldn't condone such an act if they felt they have taken advantage of these people.

Okay.

You also have strong opinions on promiscuity. though you admit that you don't understand why. how much of this is social conditioning, how much of this is your own opinion?

I find it disgusting. Is that hard to accept? I come from a culture when promiscuity is frowned upon and so is prostitution. I think people should try their best to stick to their partner and not leave them unless for a good reason.

It's my own opinion, based on experience, reading articles and watching documentaries. Some of it has been influenced by culture.

Your the same as me. Your beliefs are influenced by your experiences and your culture.

Excellent points!

No hating! We all have different views and it should be tolerated. :/ It's nice to hear different views. So refreshing. It's a sensitive topic but I prefer to be blunt and edgy.... *reveals claws*

My point being that prostitution being common and to some degree accepted is immaterial to the zeitgeist. It's common for people to think that society is in decline, morals have run amok, and we're on the edge of the doom when they haven't studied much history. The fact is that even the prices for various sex acts haven't changed.

I am waiting for the right person, someone who doesnt cheat and accepts me how I am,its been a long time since I had any type of sexual contact and that was just kids/teens being curious,I would say I was even abused by older girls,by the way I get judged a lot too thats why I lied so many times that it almost became usual.

About prostitutes I dont like because sex its something that I think has to be personal, not with random strangers, also what someone who is capable of selling their own body is also capable of?

But I see why a lot of people go there,I am 25 years old and its getting really lonely for me and I am not saying just because of sex,we need the companionship of the other sex, unfortunetly for me only the wrong people liked me.

...It's common for people to think that society is in decline, morals have run amok, and we're on the edge of the doom...

that's how churches and governments stay in power

it's in the interest of the ruling hierarchy to foster such notions so as to cause people to depend on them

to bring order in a time of chaos

or if things are going well, and people are pleased with the status quo, then the revolutionaries spread the idea that we're all going to hell in a handbasket so that people will support their cause

In New Zealand prostitution is legal and protected by law. Go me.
Like I said earlier. Consent and honesty is key. Consent especially. If two adults engage in sexual activity, under whatever context...then whose business is it but their own?

I am all for monogamy and being honest with people, personally I only want to have sex with one person. I do NOT find cheating acceptable - but if you are in an open relationship, if you know where you stand then - hell man, just do it. Sex is fun - I'll take it where I can. It's EASY to get laid - finding someone who actually gives a damn about you, who actually cares, stands by you and accepts you - now THAT is hard to find... and that is all I really want... I would even forgo the sex.
