Naughty Pics!

Now that I have your attention... ;)

If you clicked hoping to see naughty pics, I am sorry to have to disappoint you. Not only is that not permitted on this site, but I have a serious topic to discuss.

I am curious as to why people feel safe enough to text each other sexual or revealing pictures. I can understand flirty/sexual text messages, but sending a barely-clothed picture (or worse) to someone is giving them a lot of power. Just look at all those ex-gf (and bf?) revenge sites (okay DON'T look at them, they're bad, bad I tell you!). But even elsewhere on the web. And even if we're not talking about sharing the pics with a massive online audience, the person you sent it to still has that pic! Forever! If it's a hard copy of a picture you can at least maybe try to sneak it back and burn it or something, haha. But digital is out of your hands.

Personally I wouldn't do it. Probably ever. May disappoint future partners but I think he could live with it. If he gets to see the real thing, so what if he doesn't get a picture? haha

Let's be mature now, I am writing this seriously and not for sh**s and giggles or innuendo.

What do you think, always a bad idea or are there any times you think it's okay to take that leap of faith? The thought frankly scares the heck out of me.

Also, why do you think so many people still do it in spite of knowing the potentially humiliating consequences?

(note: I am not asking this because I am in a situation where I'm considering do this. I saw an article online about it and it got me thinking.)

I would never send one of those kinds of pictures to anyone. Here's something that will make you laugh, although i didn't find it funny. A guy i used to see, well, during sex he some how thought it would be a good idea to take a photo of me during the act. He didn't even ask me first, he just took it. He must have planned it because he didn't use his phone, he used an actual camera. Who keeps a camera beside their bed?!

Anyway, i was very angry and made him delete it there and then. I still worry that he some how still has the pictures and they'll re-surface. He swears he deleted them but i have my doubts. I don't speak to him anymore and wouldn't trust him after that.

I'd never do it, unless perhaps I had been with the person for many years, but even then it's a huuuuuge risk as to where it might end up.

A friend received a photo of the guy she was dating's private parts on her phone the other day and I just thought it was a little bit cringeworthy :S That's my personal opinion.

But its as you say, if they get to see the real thing why do they need a picture too?

Sharing a picture has similar consequences to getting their name tattoo'ed on your body, and many people are opposed to that.

Can we keep this thread clean (in it's language and explicitness) as I've had the webmaster breathing down my neck today, we don't want the advertisers complaining again to him.

That is all....

(p.s. that goes double for you coyote!)

 wow, what an ass. If someone did that to me I'd most certainly sit there all day if it took that long to get him to delete it. Without permission from you that is not okay. Sorry he did that to you :/

Yeah, people, CLEAN! Mature discussion only :p

Sorry Remus, I know these threads tend to get crazy. Hopefully we can have a serious discussion here.

Some people just fall in love like that, absolutely trusting the other person, with what an outsider would certainly consider wishful thinking, something like "oh they're never going to do anything to hurt me, and there's no risk because our love will last forever". Some people simply don't consider properly the possible consequences of their actions. Even if I had that wishful absolute trust in someone, there's the healthy paranoia that the other person's storage device may get lost or stolen.

I guess people do it because they don't really see their partner as someone whom would ever do something bad with it.

Moral of the story is: If you've decide to take a seductive/erotic picture, make sure that you don't include your face or identity revealing objects/qualities in the photo.

Maybe sexting is a new type of mating call. For example if a guy sends a picture of his private parts to you, he is suggesting that he's interested in hooking up with you.

Well if you wanted to send a pic there's a sensible way of doing it. Technology has come a long way. There are apps where people can send a photo which is visible by the recipient for just 10 seconds. Once the picture is opened the recipient has just 10 seconds to look at it before it disappears. If you were sending a regular photo to someone, best be on the safe side and not get your face in the picture.

you sound like you have experience with this

can you send me the link?

(and any photos of yourself you want me to see for 10 seconds)

Some guys like to keep 'trophies' of all the conquests that they've achieved. What this guy did to you was horrible. I bet he has many of pictures of other women he slept with.

if they get to see the real thing why do they need a picture too?

What if you and your lover lived far apart though? What if you can't see your partner that regularly because travel time is too long? Makes sense to me that couples are tempted to send each other erotic pictures/videos to ehm... meet their needs until they can meet in person again.

Kinda scary what can happen if something like that gets out.

Reminds me of a time when a friend of mine, who was a dood, got sent an image of something wiggly to his phone. ...

Never send a photo of you nude or half naked. A girl that I knew on Myspace sent a nude photo to a guy, well he then took her picture and sent it to ALL of her contacts!

Anyone, who wants a nude photo or a suggestive pic is not someone that you should be talking to. They are not your friend, or a potential partner, they are only concerned with their own needs. And once that pic is in cyber space, it's on every porn site!

For those that have. It sucks. Live and learn. There's over a billion adult pics, so yours isn't the highlight of the internet. Unfortunately this has happened to thousands of women. Don't end your life over it.

........I wish there was a way to stop this kind of stuff. So many sleaze bags out there!

No, I'd never send anyone pictures. I've heard way too much stuff about spiteful ex-boyfriends putting their exs pics up on 'revenge sites' and this can be dangerous for the girl in the real world. There are a lot of creeps out there.

Wouldn't take a chance on it at all.
