  • Nice :) I used to read lots of poems but not so much anymore. Hehe yea I know nothing about the Tudor era, I just like the houses :p i'm going to Tudor places in the summer but I don't think I've been to any before. Did you have a nice weekend? Xx
Yea that's true. I tend to copy other people's work though, I probably express myself enough in other ways hehe :p poetry is awesome :) yea Center Parcs is amazing, I never really do the activities when I go, just go to the pool and the spa and walk around and eat lots hehe :p the activities are really expensive and i'm not a very active person :L Xx
Yes, I like cooking for other people. I bake cakes every time we have family visiting, just so I get to see other people (other than my husband, of course) enjoying food I've made. Yes, it always a good feeling to complete something you've spent a lot of time making, especially if it turns out well.

As I said with mythology, I mostly like the creation tales as I like comparing them, but some of the Greek tales are very entertaining, and it's funny how similar themes pop up again and again throughout mythology.. For example, the theme of the hero, rescuing someone, who ends up being pursued by the captor, so they have to throw items behind them to hinder the pursuer....

I know quite a lot about the Bible, since my mother is a Jehovah's Witness (I'm not, though I used to be... I belong to no religion, but am a Deist) What Bible stories do you like?
Yea I do enjoy drawing :) I haven't been getting an opportunities to do it lately though, I've had too much coursework to do. I prefer manga and cartoony art as opposed to traditional art. Hehe yea I've found lots of places in the UK that are lovely :) I really like Center Parcs. I like little Tudor towns too Xx
I agree with you tat it's a shame that traditional skills are being lost generally, but there are a fair number of people who still do them as a hobby. I know all of those poems and also like them, especially 'If'.

As for mythology, I like all kinds, from Norse to Egyptian to Celtic, Native American, African, etc. I find the creation myths to be most fascinating and like comparing different myths from around the world. The story I'm currently writing will be drawing heavily on Norse mythology, as it's about a Viking child. Do you have an interest in mythology?
Hehe yea, and it looks awesome. I think shopping over there would be amazing :D yea Singapore looks lovely. There's not really anywhere else I wanna visit. I'm not really much of a traveller, I like travelling in the UK though. I think it take about 6 months or more to produce a manga, it's all hand drawn and shaded and the colours drawings are all done by hand too. I got they pens they use for Christmas, done a few drawings with them and they're awesome :) Xx
Yea, manga tends to be in black and white mostly. I like the colour posters and art books that you get though. Hmm i'm not sure what I prefer, I'm more in to the story I think :) but I like that manga is all done by hand, it's incredible really when you think about it. Where do you want to travel to in the summer? I'd love to see the crossing at Shibuya and just anywhere in Tokyo really. I would just get there and see what was round about :) you? Xx
    Hello,

It depends upon my mood as to how easy or difficult I find it to keep myself busy.. Of late I've been finding it difficult to do anything other than what needs to be done... I just keep procrastinating, but other times it's easy. Sewing does take time, lots of time. I've finished the cushion now, but it took me a few days to make. I'e made clothes and a teddy-bear before too. As long as you enjoy poetry then it's a fantastic use of your time, good for the mind both mentally and emotionally. What poets or poems do you like best?
    Hullo!

Sorry for the delay in responding: I've been quite busy with research for the story I'm writing and thinking up ideas for an embroidered cushion I want to make for my sister-in-law's birthday.

I read your poem, I thought it was good! Much better than many contemporary poets who leave a lot to be desired. I do like poetry, though the poems I like tend to be few and far between... I particularly love 'The Raven' by Poe and others of his.

I've written short stories and poems before now. I did start on a novel, but got stuck around 7 chapters in as I found action scenes difficult to write. I may go back to it at some point, however.

I don't think I could tie myself down to any one job. I have too many interests and my attention shifts between them for periods of time. I think the only thing I would never get tired with is working with animals.

I think it's good that you volunteer at the park - I hope some day you'll be able to fulfill your desire to be a gardener.
Yea that's true. I like manga over books though because you can just look at the details in a scene and get a feel for it without having to read 2 pages worth of words. It feel like you can interpret it by yourself and not have it dictated to you. No not where I live, cos it's a small village so there isn't a lot of different cultures here, I see it in the city though. I can't think of any sounds that annoy me, what about you? Xx
Yea it's a really interesting story :) the film was in Japanese with English subtitles. Spanish is pretty easy to learn. I definitely get more enjoyment out of reading manga than watching films :) but I like to see the films of the manga I read Xx
Yes, we've read a lot of books on edible and medicinal uses for wild plants, so the knowledge seeps in eventually. The eye drops did help my dog, I'll be making more this year (she has an allergy problem, a bit like hay-fever - the vet prescribed eye drops once, but the plants work just as well)

Your poem about Snow sounds interesting, would you like to share it? I've just started attempting to write a children's novel, but I need to brush up on Norse mythology a little before I can continue.

We're about 4 or 5 miles away from the doctor's, chemist and supermarket. We have a small village shop, but it's only useful for a loaf of bread or a packet of biscuits. But due to my agoraphobia I am unable to get to the doctor's/Chemist/Supermarket.

Some of my favourite Queen songs would be 'One Vision', 'It's a Beautiful Day' and 'Innuendo'.
It's a Japanese film about 2 girls living in Tokyo. Hehe yea that's what I like too :) I think a good manga is very powerful. What about you? Xx
Yea I like most of those films. I like 500 Days of Summer and I watched a Japanese film recently called Nana, I really liked it Xx
We had snow on the ground for 8 days, it started to go yesterday, but it's all gone today. I don't like winter with it being cold and muddy and wet and dark, but I do love snow. I'm glad the birds around there are okay. Most people around here put food out, so the birds around here don't need to worry about that.

As for other wild plants - we collected Meadowsweet and made a drink out of it which can also be used as a painkiller for mild ailments such as arthritis. I also made some jam with blackberries and elderberries, elderberry cordial from the flowers. We've tried burdock and hogweed root, nettles make good soup, vetch seed pods have little pea-like seeds which are lovely, we've tried comfrey leaves and I've also collected chickweed to make eye-drops for my dog and fumitory from which I made a bitter tea to treat a gall bladder issue... And more besides, but that's all I can think of at the moment. Oh and pig-nut! pig-nut is lovely - the tubers are delicious.
Hehe wow that's pretty awesome :) when I saw the adverts I really didn't fancy it but it's so good! Hmm comedy films... I don't know, I guess I don't watch comedy films, more feel good films. What about you? Xx
Hehe yea I like him. The story is really good, I think Up is one of my favourite Pixar movies :) nah I was never in anything like that when I was younger, I was never really in to spending time with other kids hehe :p I don't really regret it though, I don't think it looks like much fun. Xx
Both you and partner love plants then.Wildflowers are interesting and its sad in a way that they get overlooked by some and treated as just weeds by some people. Its interesting how many wildflowers, native plants, have medicinal properties and pretty flowers.Plants like Yarrow,Nettles,Onions,Dandilions etc.Do you have any favourite wildflowers.Im always on the look out for music particular rock music that I have not heard before. You mentioned being a big fan of prog rock which I had never heard of and that got my curious.I listened to some of the Songs from the Lion cage album by Arena.I was suspicious in case it was very heavy screamy rock which Im not a fan of.Instead I was greated by melody, harmony and deep thoughtful lyrics.I meant to listen to one track but I ended up listening to four.Lol.Arena and Queen who I like alot, have a similar sound. Bands with deep and thoughtful lyrics really appeal to me.What are some of your
    songs and albums by Arena.
Thank you for the link, I'll have a look at it soon.

I already knew quite a lot about animals from my childhood, but my husband became very interested in plants a few years ago, so he bought many books on identifying wild plants and now we know most of them. We haven't gotten around to identifying butterflies and moths yet, so I only know a few of the common ones. One thing which helps in learning, is to take photographs and then identify them at home, then just keep reminding yourself of what they are.

As for Clive Nolan, something about his music just speaks to something deep inside of me, it seems to resonate incredibly well with me, but his lyrics are amazing, especially with his bands Shadowland and Arena: The lyrics are intriguing and mysterious, they leave you with something to think about...
It's about good and evil and how sometimes it's blurred and where do you draw the line. It's good :) the movies are worth a watch. Hehe yea I liked the dogs, they were funny. I liked the wee boy, he was funny too. Yea that's true, i'm not really in to violent stuff, there's not a lot of happy upbeat things on tele Xx
