So I finally bought the new hot game everyone has been buzzing about - Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
...
Oh, that was three years ago? No one is talking about it anymore? *nods* Well I bought Link's Awakening within a few months of it being released!...Ah, it was a remake of a 25 year old game, so I was not on the cutting edge there either. And my collectors edition for the GameCube? All ports? hmm. Well, surely Link to the Past to the GBA was-!-oh, also a port.

Fortunately Legend of Zelda is not a topical game, or I would not enjoy the series by the sounds of it :p And enjoy is the perfect word for Breath of the Wild. It's ridiculous critical acclaim is completely warranted. I have fun ignoring the main plot completely for hours at time and just travelling the giant overworld. So so good.
Love the Zelda series.. magical gaming

I've invested in a couple of new games in the last few days.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Had a quick play through the opening 30 mins, looks good so far. Got it at half price ($40). Looking forward to playing it.

Sony on the PlayStation has offered 2 games for free, Uncharted - the Nathan Drake collection (first 3 games) - I've been curious about this game for a while but not enough to buy it.
And 'Journey'. I haven't downloaded it but may do yet. It has many great reviews.

So I have them waiting for me when I finish The Walking Dead series. (y)

BOTW is so freaking good, lots of replay value even years after its release. Not a lot of games are quite *that* good, imo. Or maybe I'm just picky.

I bought that last year when I got my Switch. It's definitely a must-have title. I also spent a lot of hours just roaming, finding items, exploring new places, and practicing combat instead of completing the story, even though I bought the guidebook to help me too. I still have not beaten the game. I don't even think I finished the second Divine Beast. Someday I'll get back into it, hopefully before the second installment releases, whenever that will be. No rush though. I expect it to be just as good, if not better, than the first.

So today as I was playing ACNH, I remembered I wanted to go tarantula hunting last night and forgot so I figured I'd set back a day (after I already started today's activities) and do so. It's just a day, no big deal. I never time travel so I didn't think it would affect anything. I moved back to today and found my turnips rotten. RIP $50k investment.

(Money is hard to earn now since Nintendo nerfed the damn bug spawns, which is why I'm now trying my hand with turnip stock. I'm running out of room to stock bugs waiting for flick to show up and he hasn't shown in 3 weeks now and I'm getting extremely peeved and impatient.)

I get it Nintendo. No TT. :( I was pretty upset about that and almost rage quit for the day, but instead I built a boardwalk on my beach and started to put up some new areas there. My villagers were so intrigued and excited by what I was doing, 4 of them came down to watch me and planked their asses down wherever I was working. Thanks guys.

Just finished Telltale's The Walking Dead seasons..
If you've ever read a book, seen a movie where it's the end and you don't want to say goodbye to those characters, that feeling.. this game definitely did that to me. Heart wrenching, sad, funny moments, characters you grow fond of..

Scripted extremely well with surprising twists and turns that keep you thinking, great gameplay design and the artwork/graphics are just fantastic.

Lee, Kenny and Clementine will always be in my favourite characters list.
10/10.

*SPOILER ALERT*

Was watching this last night, having a good laugh at players reactions. I LOVE 'Dekon's' reactions.. he's so emotionally invested in the characters
