What are you all doing just now?

Don't try to make it stop, just keep breathing and trust that it WILL stop. Don't fight it, accept it. I know that's a lot easier said than done but try....

My head is still spinning a bit but I think I'm calming down now, thank you a lot. I know trying to make it stop is not usually a good idea but I get so nervous I just want to find a way to make it come to an end, since my ideas don't seem to work. Ugh. I just hate going through this almost every night.

I was very disconnected when I first replied you and didn't see this message. I'm a little better now, breathing deeply and listening to some music calmed me down a bit. I'm having these attacks frequently lately 'cause I'll be having the most important test of my life in a few weeks, and I just can't sit and study properly because I start to freak out. It's a repetitive cycle. I always end up without studying anything at all and feeling worthless the morning after. :c

Think about the worse of this situation. If you fail the test you won't be able to do it again?
You still have a few weeks, and along these weeks you will have time to study a lot. If you are now tired, nervous...take a break to recover and think about where are you going to follow. Don't think about all the tópics you have to study as a whole. Think of them as sepárate parts. Choose the easier ones to follow and when you feel better, faced to the most difficult tasks or tópics.

Good to hear you're feeling better!

I was going to write the same thing as April; break your studying down into little parts instead of trying to face the whole pile of work at once. Take it easy, you'll get there bit by bit.

Thank you a lot, both of you, I'll try dividing the topics and organize myself a bit more. I'm still trying to find a proper way for me to keep focused for a longer time. Trying to do everything all at once when the desperate arrives won't be helpful x.x but that's what always happens in the end.

Good luck! What is your exam about?

The poster is in America, but in this country it is the name given to the subject of political science in university.

Oh, you're an Aussie. My best online friend is from your marvellous country as well.
Here, it's also called Political Science.
I were going to do a joke with the póster considering the fame politicians have now in my country. :giggle:

Yeah pretty much, the subject is specifically over the process of government in our state. The final of course is just the final test of the semester.

Aré you going to be a teacher? Did I understand well?
If so, i encourage you. You will have the most marvellous profession. I'm a teacher.

No, it's one of the core classes that the university requires for everybody regardless of your overall area of study. After I'm done with all the required classes I want to switch schools and work on audio engineering, recording music has been my single biggest hobby in 14 years.
I'm always fascinated by, for example, how video games incorporate a lot of different element of sound to make the finalized product. I always turn the music off to listen to how well the developers have made the game sound believable, if you are in a forest do you hear background animal sounds? The wind in the trees? Your characters footsteps? I love stuff like that

Good luck in your exam.:)

an avoidant and a teacher? That's an interesting combination..... No power on this earth could make me get in front of a class of kids and try to teach!

Well, because I'm an avoidant I had trouble in the past in my job as well, but I think I had had the same problems in any other job.
It's that I loved being a teacher since I was a child and how I feel more comfortable with kids than with adults, they give me energy and I feel well.
I like to teach and learn from them and they seem like it too.

I hope you find a job soon. What kind of job are you looking for?

I don't know what this game is about. I stopped the computer games with The Prince of Persia.
Anyway, for your post it seems funny. Enjoy yourself!:)

Yes, it's really amazing! It's a role playing game, released in 1995 for SNES. It's old but really enjoyable.
