Getting a happy update and pics from the adopter of one of my past foster dogs who was very difficult to place due to behavior issues. She was nearly euthanized by her former owner because of it. ::(: Doing rescue, you see a lot of bad, but emails like this make it all worth while. There really are some awesome people out there! :)

Thanks, Dinosaur! It's a labor of love, but dogs give back as much as we give them too! This beautiful, sweet boy was sent over as a stray a few years ago. He was adopted by an older man who's wife of 50 years passed away. The man was very sad and lonely, and his doctor suggested adopting a dog to help ease the pain. He loves to travel in his motorhome and now has a constant travel companion! A win-win for both! It's great that more people are adopting dogs from shelters and rescues because they really do make excellent family members! :)

Here's a pic of their most recent adventure:

I went to the the fair! This was the first time I ever been to one, and it was exciting. Even though it was a bit crowded I still managed to have fun. Some of those rides where a bit scary (thought I going to fly out my seat) and after words felt a little sick. But, it was a great day.

Hey, BlackPuma, I know exactly it feels to buy older game (for my n64 and ps1). what games did you get?

I got some GameCube games in the mail. It felt awesomely nostalgic.
^ Ooh, what did you get? I loved playing Wind Waker, Metriod Prime, and Animal Crossing on my Gamecube. Never did get a ton of games for it, but I was always happy with the few I had.

Also, beautiful pictures, blacksheep! Nice to see he found a great home with a great owner. Lucky dog to be doing all that travelling! :D

I was at the cafeteria and a kid with her parents came in. They had a balloon. I normally run away in panic when I see one, I have a phobia of balloons since I was little. For some strange reason, I didn't panic. I was uneasy the whole time they were in, but I didn't feel this urge to run. I could say I'm happy about it. I was looking forward to facing this fear and actually succeeding for once.

I'm hoping I can get over this. It's a really nonsense phobia.

I did a quick Google search and apparently a phobia of balloons doesn't exist. Do you know why you got this particular phobia? Any bad experiences with balloons that you can recall?

the fear of balloons is not uncommon

it's called globophobia

i personally know someone else with this fear, and there weren't any specific incidents which caused it

Google has let me down.

I guess it's just one of those things.

I fear the explosion, getting startled. I assume that having balloons exploding suddenly near me so many times caused it. I've had countless bad experiences with explosions. Firecrackers terrify me too.

To be fair, an exploding balloon scares me, too, although not to the point of a phobia.

I can understand your feelings towards this, though. Just the startling and sudden noises. It's not pleasant.

I love the sound of balloons bursting ::eek::

Nothing in particular made me happy today, just nothing made me sad, so I'm happy about that! :D

My kitty. :3 He's so lovable tonight, I don't know why. All he keeps doing is purring, meowing, nudging my hands, licking me, putting his butt in my face, and following me.
